Very awesome, very random spot on the way to work this morning....
About half a mile from my house, pretty working class / council area, I clock something red in the corner of my eye, double back to take a look, and it's a genuine F40 being loaded into a transporter, with an F355 above.
I think this is the first one I've actually seen in the metal, honestly couldn't believe it given the location, just seemed totally out of the ordinary.
Had to check both registrations to confirm they were genuine cars - the F355 came back as real, the F40 registration wouldn't provide any details, but I found some photos of the same car at Graypaul Ferrari in Birmingham a couple years ago..

A guy I worked for used to race in the UK Ferrari Challenge and had a 360 Challenge car at the time. I remember going with him to Brands one day where he was testing on a Ferrari owners track day. It was really surreal going around Paddock Hill following F40s and 512BBs at full chat. It was like being in some motoring dream, yet brilliant to watch their legs being properly stretched. I think to me bar day the car I was in was the least interesting on track!

looks more like the type of place where they make aftermarket bodykits. McLaren HQ is significantly more fancy (and I'd imagine secretive) than that.
That's the back of McLarens MSO buildinghttps://goo.gl/maps/tFmNjByccfUTZ9ab8
Anyway. fk the boyed up Senna.
F1 greatness in the washbay!

I have to say I find this a little distasteful.
The original LM F1 was due to the car winning at Le Mans. This looks like a badge special. And I hate fakery.

Never going to happen sadly
No, because they've been trading off past homologation glories for 20 years and don't want to risk undoing all that by being crap (as they have been in F1 for the last 5+ years). It's a shame, as it would be REALLY cool to see Mclaren, Ferrari and Lamborghini alongside Aston Martin there (oh, and GM Design's T50 too) - I think we all know the track battle would be contrived by the BOP regs, but still...much better to see AM vs Lamborghini or Mclaren vs Ferrari than Toyota vs Peugeot...

That's ridiculously cool. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
