Spotted (a week and a half ago) around Ribblehead Viaduct along with an Aston Martin. They were doing some filming, the first time I passed them, the Mclaren had a camera rig on the front of it. Wonder which YouTube channel they'll appear on.

Possibly SCD, they operate out that way. They did some filmimg with my pals 600LT over that way somewhere. (the orange one)
Cover story of this months Evo by the look of things.

God no. Immensely quick capable I'm sure, but about as subtle as a gold-plated breeze-block...that GT series just look caricature.

I wasn't able to read those Romans links yesterday on the phone but agree the GT2RS is very nice ,at less than 1/2

the 918 was up for.

Seeing as they've cleared all the supercars away whilst closed ,the GT2 is still in view inside the showroom ,along with

the other most expensive stuff they have.....smile

Does that help the oversized wheels / arches?

Or the functionless vents on the front bonnet?

Or the darth-vader like rad vents all over the front bumper?

Seriously...put that thing next to a 2.7RS or a 964 RS (or a 996/997 GT3, for that matter) and the current car just looks like an aftermarket special. The 993 GT2 at least has the very valid excuse of homologation for its excesses...

If it's going to be a Porsche it needs to be like this;

Never really been a big 911 fan, but that has converted me. Perhaps it is just the (heavily processed) photo/render; but that looks fabulous.

The blue thing is lovely.

The dewings GT2 is stunning.

What do you mean those bonnet vents are functionless? Seriously? That is massively disappointing.

I'm fairly sure Porsche motorsport don't fit functionless vents! laugh

They feed air into the area on the scuttle

They didn't do that for the hell of it!

It's a 'shop - there'd be (pretty much) no suspension travel if that was real. This is the problem - artist renders make promises the engineers can't keep...and you end up with ridiculous 20"s on a 911 just trying to keep up with the concept renders.

Well, where would they lead to? NACA duct's are for low-drag air ingress into a body...so unless they're for the HVAC system (they seem too high up and too outboard), then I can't see a single purpose - they're in entirely the wrong place.

Quote from the Porsche website

‘Two intakes in the bonnet improve ventilation of the brake system without negatively affecting the drag coefficient. Developed by the predecessor to NASA, these “NACAs” are being used in a series-produced Porsche vehicle to cool the brakes at this point for the very first time”

Behind the bumper grills are the oil cooler and HVAC rad?

Outside Sofitel, just before lockdown. Probably the only Senna in Singapore. With import taxes and additional tax and extra tax and tax on tax; this is at least £1.6million to have in the country. (if the owner had no options at all, guessing a base price of 750k.)

Trawling back through some old pictures from Japan in 2018, I found some that I'd not posted before.

They're not all super, they're not all rare, but they are all interesting in their own way.
Always love your posts in here, the itch to go to Japan is massive. What camera do you use?

The Gallardo is such a well proportioned car cloud9

Many thanks! Believe me, looking back at pictures, the itch to go back to Japan is massive. Truly amazing place.

I use(d) a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 2.8 24-70mm for the most part. Although recently upgraded (with a 12 year old!) D700.

Interesting...I stand corrected.

Really odd spot to put them though - a 90-degree bend for the air to go down those gaps...but (trying to remember my fluid dynamics from Uni) I guess that only makes it more turbulent (& possibly a little slower) - still better than nothing, given all the air through the front bumper will be rather warm by the time it passes the wheels.
