Was looking at these and 55's, 29 grand is way, way too much even if it is really nice and even give the low miles. I would venture its an 18 grand car, even then, you have to be keen, just because its low mileage doesnt make it worth ten grand more, whoever had it should have used it more ! it is still knocking on a bit.

The later Biturbo E 63 and CLS 63 are available at that money, also, from when I was looking, these just dont move, buy that at that money and then change your mind I reckon you would need to take a 10 grand hit to move it on, dont get me wrong its a lovely thing, but its a 2002 bodystyle and looks not unlike a £2000 E200D. most of the ones I was looking at on Ebay and AT seen to still be these wearing their very optimistic price tags

These can suffer with head bolt problems which is very expensive, the airmatic suspension can give issues but its not that ruinous these days, otherwise its £500 VED, tyres and sub 20 mpg that are the big costs, oh and the front brakes can be pretty spendy ont he 63, think they have separate bell/braking surface and are like £1200 a pair, the 55 models just have big, standard disks that arent very pricey.

I tried to sell my CLS 5.5 500, I know its not an AMG but its the same year and diodnt get much interest at 7 grand, these are better but four or more times better ?

Don't want to troll but you seem to be looking at many cars, I know people lile to daydream but coming on every single thread saying you was looking at xyz is taking the biscuit. I look at cars too but it doesn't really mean I have the means to seriously consider every car I look at

No, you are probably right, but not sure what else I have looked at this year ? was a 55 Merc of some description but bottled out as there were too many opportunities to bankrupt myself. Was ready to buy but there was too little left in the budget for contingency, was having to sell mine low and they were, as I have mentioned and pay top dollar for an unknown quantity, was going to cost me six grand to change and just didnt seem worth it in the end.

Not sure what else I have been rattling on about ? but it is a discussion forum after all !

Really? With THOSE wheels? they look positively ghastly!
Yes really I like them that's why I bought them & I really like the estates alloys, you can have an opinion them & not like them but understand I bought them because I liked them.

You're welcome to post a photo of your car wink

Only covered 2k miles in 2 years. Good or bad thing?

Problematic car that nobody wants?
I'd be looking for the accident/flood damage - holes in mileage are often because the car sat in a bodyshop or salvage auction awaiting someone to spirit it back to life (HPI doesn't record everything)

Of course the owner may have been ill or working away but when I see holes like that in a history - that's where the accident happened...

and I'm also in on the "£30k for a 9-year-old Merc is bonkers - running costs AND depreciation are still going to hurt"

Love that it looks spot on exactly how I'd want mine to look like if I had to have a estate. beer

I like my cars low & non standard alloys I find standard boring.
I usually love SL's but this angle for the photo doesn't work for me. It makes the front overhang look massive, and also accentuates the gap between the wheel and the wing in front of it. Also, the wheels show off how rusty the brake discs are but some use might scrape them clean.

Awesome car and one I would have in a heart beat just not at that price!

I paid a fair bit less for my CLS63 (07) and that only had 17k on the clock. I know the CLS AMGs seem to have dropped below the E/C Class but £30k is still a lot of cash for a ten year old car.

£20k would be far more realistic even with the unusual paint and low mileage.

Fair point the photos were taken after it had been cleaned hence the brown discs, here's a side on one also worthy of note is that when in park it sits a loot lower than standard thanks to the Brabus module.

They're 10x19 on the front & 11x19's on the rear but they always looked small when photographed, I did try 20's but the ride went to pot.

Dear God No - is that an MR2 with a bodykit smile

Proportions and stance are wrong - looks like the suspension is broken - it needs more heft, SLs are muscular, get some meat on the wheels and tyres...

As nice as it is nearly 30k is laughable. You could get into a W212 E63 wagon for that.

I sold my w211 e63 saloon which had 45,000 miles for 15k a month or so ago. It has been up for sale for over a month with very little interest.

Have a look on AT and see how long they take to sell, that one will be around a LONG time at that price.
Just been looking at 2008 E63 estates and this thread popped up on the search. The same car, at the same dealer is still for sale.
