It's a natural reaction though, to protect something that is yours irrespective of whether it's insured or not.
i was mugged at knife point on holiday, i had about 2 quid in my pocket. i told him to stab me as i wasn't handing it over , luckily he never did, and i didn't know why i did it, it was like natural instincts took over.

There is a massive epidemic of these home invasions to steal fast cars up north. From Coventry to Manchester to Glasgow, there is pretty much a post a day about such things on the Audi, VW and other forums. Surprised the Daily Wail and others have not cottoned on yet.
You dont hear about them trying to steal a Citroen picasso or a Hyundai elantraWhats the market for the stolen VAG? broken up as parts?

Northern Irish crew hit 19 homes in 4 weeks in Glasgow, cops know who they are but can't catch them in the act.An acquaintance had his house raided and S3 keys stolen but the car was parked in a different street, cops told him to keep it there.

Cloned, or parts used to create a replica is becoming increasing common
This I'm a member of a bmw forum which has a number of "modders" upgrading their cars with things like upgraded factory nav or post face-lift tail lights without anyone ever questioning where these parts are sourced
Ironically they all love their cars and would be outraged if theirs was stolen
There have been numerous examples of people being killed , at Liverpool airport an old boy was dropping a family member off, got out to help with the bag and somebody got in , he stood in front of the car and they just ran him over killing him instantly
1/2 the problem is lenient sentences when they do catch them , I'm regularly astounded at the cop shows when Jamie theakston updates us with the sentences handed out after watching some scumbag drive at 80 in a 30 up the path and across parks to get away.

That is horrible, Chorlton is actually quite nice, but its near some not nice bits.
What is it with Audi S3's, they seem to be a scrote Magnet ? I saw a manky Leon with Lamborghini alloys the other day and drive round Manchester there are a lot of diesel S3's, suspect it was three grands worth of 1.6 or 2.0 tdi that was going to become an S3 look alike and it went very wrong, hope they get them and they go away for murder, I would imagine the known local car thieves are getting visits right about know.

4 s cornered me and mugged me for my BMX. It was (under) insured, so realistically I shouldn't have. But I resisted and got a broken nose and eye socket for my trouble.
It really affected my state of mind for a few years. But I will still stand up to any future s who choose to try it.
Probably means I'm a bit thick
