What else is available new for £250k?
One fully loaded M135i (junior supercar) + one fully loaded 335d (mapped) and you can use the change to keep them both running for the rest of your days.Eviltad said:

You're assuming either of them would let you. So speaks the anti-M600 standard-bearer.
L33 - I salute you.
Hahaha fair enough, though I did until very recently own an Alfa 8C if that counts as good looking? Most think it is. I do find the looks of the Noble rather bland, certainly given the competition at that price point. I'm sure it is great fun to drive (certainly better than my 8C was), and looks are of course subjective. But I stand by the basis of my statement even if my language was a bit fruity for some of you. Supercars should look interesting, and that just doesn't.....sorry!L33 - I salute you.

I don't know the answer to this, but has it ever been independently verified at 225mph.
I know Autocar quote that as a top speed, which is irrelevant in itself really, but I remember reading the Autocar road test in 2009, and they certainly never went anywhere near 225...due to the constraints in the U.K. I would assume.

Hmm, they got one to indicate over 200mph on the speedo, which is not quite the same thing as the car achieving a genuine, verified 200mph.
I've just been having an idle look about at road test data whilst sat on the throne, and yes, the figures that Autocar achieved in 2009 were very, very impressive.
It's a bit unfair to compare what is a 2009 design that hasn't been updated significantly to a modern car, but hey that's what Noble are effectively marketing, but a McLaren 650s marginally betters the M600 upto at least 150mph, thereafter comparable figures get a bit vague but certainly the McLaren looks at least comparable upto 186mph, while being considerably cheaper. Then there is another issue, the McLaren 720S, which is quicker again and still cheaper, assuming the M600 is priced at £206k plus local taxes as I've read, which I make just under a quarter of a million on the road.
I'm not even sure any of that is such a poor reflection on the M600 actually, it's just an old design now that has been bettered, in my eyes at least, by more modern rivals, at a lesser price.

Would you have doubted and wanted the figures verified if it was the Veyron, or the Zonda?
Were the 650s figures taken on the same day, with the same amount of fuel and two passengers etc?
A base 650s was 200 grand, ( not far off a base non carbon M600)even some of the paints were circa 10k IIRC on the Macca. If you specced one under £225k you did well. Probably a LT at circa 300 grand would be a fairer comparison.
You keep saying bettered... Yet you freely admit you've not got properly close to (let alone driven an M600) and probably it's the same with the 650s. I never got 911's on any level, but didn't comment on forums about them until I did various track days via Palmersport Porsche Silverstone ... Then I got them and understood the appeal.
The 650s and M600 are both great cars (just different ones ) but we should be especially happy the M600 even exists. If it was built by a big name and double the price it would be fawned over by fanboys the world over.
I'm not doubting it can do the 225mph that people keep quoting, I'd just wondered if it has ever been independently proven, tested or verified, as certain posters keep trotting the figure out like it's the be all and end all.
Equally, certain posters have suggested the performance is head and shoulders above its competition, again, like its the most important factor. 8 years ago when the car was introduced it probably was. Not now it would seem, things have certainly moved on in the performance stakes.

Just one aspect to a car that is a) built here in the UK and b) generally accepted as being pretty special when it comes to handling. Any car deemed a 'modern F40' has to be something to be revered surely? What's not to love about a car like this being available, albeit at a hefty price tag? As a kid the F40 was my poster car and as middle aged, balding fat bloke it's the M600. I'm just surprised that on a forum like this it isn't more revered. Yes the styling is subjective (although I think it's fantastic) but I wonder how long cars like this will be built?
ETA
Obviously just my opinion and I'm a lottery win shy of ever having one on the drive. Mind you, if anyone wants me to look after theirs for a few hours / days / weeks, I'm up for it.
Reading through all the comments again, I think the problem is they haven't had the courage (or perhaps money) to make it more of a Zonda or Koenigsegg. It sits at the top of the 'mass' supercar market in terms of price, but without the heritage nor benefits a mainstream manufacturer give. It may or may not outperform these other cars, but for most it is an unknown quantity, and while many on here laud the style, it is at best understated.
Make it a truly bespoke £500k+ car, with maybe a more interesting body style, and interior, and it might become a thing of genuine desire. Perhaps like Spyker with proper performance and dynamics (that the Noble engineers are capable of) recognising they are probably a bit too OTT.

Me too. I'd have one for when the McLaren F1 was in for servicing and the Mrs was out in the F40.
