Over £90,000 the Audi and over £113,000 the Porsche. Top speed 190m/h, 0-62 in 3.8 the Audi and 3.9 secs.
Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde, top speed 191m/h, 0-62 in 3.9 secs...fully specced out including carbon ceramic brakes £70,000. Sold. smile

Surely the engine is the 'same' in both cars since they are both from the same stable. Just minor tuning differences?

Audi RS7 is not a £90k car though.

Broadspeed are quoting £70k after c. £18k off.

Still a residual disaster waiting to happen IMO.

Both models are absurdly overpriced. Depreciation will be epic, particularly for the Audi.

Ahm oot.

The Alfa is from a class below so irrelevant as a rival.

That's no small price difference, if they were both within 6k of each other I think I'd still go for the RS7

I see an Audi RS7 in the carpark at the gym I (too seldom) use, it's dark blue and it looks pretty damned cool IMO, it also sounds pretty good, not C63 AMG good, but reasonable - it's dark blue and I'd imagine reasonably unassuming to the untrained eye

The Porsche looks like a dogs dinner in comparison, I wouldn't choose it over the Audi regardless of how much praise this article lavishes on it

You could almost buy a Focus RS with the price difference.

I'd still take the RS6.
If I were able to buy either of these the cash difference would be going on a Caterham or similar for some lightweight weekend thrills cool

What I take away from this is that both companies may have reached a point when 'better' really doesn't matter: both of these are fantastic cars and I would derive inordinate pleasure from driving each of them. Something tells me I would derive even more pleasure from the one which price is ravaged most efficiently after two years of depreciation. In this case, a 2016 RS7 Sport with the Plus Package for £68,000

or a Panamera Turbo of the same year with less miles

I appreciate I'm not target market (having no money for a cheap new car, let alone an expensive one) but nearly £3k to add solid red paint to a £113k car? Makes the Apple idiot tax look half-reasonable...

I'll go with the Rs7 just for the gorgeous virtual cockpit and space.

A Tesla P100d will obliterate both from the lights with no drama.

No drama about sums it up - dull would be another.

Add in the fact that the tesla is actually slower and taking off from a set of lights is both a) dull b) marks you out as a complete @@@@ I'm failing to see your point.

Pistonheads has really gone down the pan of late.

Dull or not. I would be embarassed been left at the lights with my launch control engaged after spending 100k. Im a big pistonhead but slowly thinking that ICEs are going the way of horse and carts.

I have personally torn a Tesla a new one on the motorway & also at a set of lights I'm guessing he didn't have time to set his ludicrous mode & the supercharged RS4 I was just went, this is the thing with all launch mode petrol or EV you need the time to set them up & life isn't always going to give you that time. Does anyone know the non launch mode 0-60 time of the Tesla or the RS7?

I have a feeling that the standard tesla mode will whip a supercharged rs4 quite badly unfortunately. That supercharger will need a moment to convert horses. The milk float will be gone off instant torque.

On the motorway I can believe, EV's aren't great from 70 up. From the lights, either he wasn't trying or it wasn't the P90D/P100D model. Even with ludicrous off the P100D can do 0-60 under 3 seconds.

I would rather have an S7, much more understated, spend the money you save tuning it to 700hp, it has the same engine, not 100% on the differences but I believe they are all bolt-on ones, sleeper.
