My old ep3 had them when I got it and i concur with those saying they feel weird during hard cornering. Its the soft sidewalls I think.

I had Proxes on my mk1 MX5 , they were without doubt the worst tyre I've ever used. There was a "discussion" on here somewhere where the Toyo fanboys came out in force , even when a comparison video of fairly gentle track use vs Kumhos was posted, in which the Toyos got a pasting.

I hated them so much I replaced mine after a few hundred miles with Kumho Ecstas and they are really good , grip like glue (on the road, I've not tracked the car) with great steering feel and a really planted rear.

My MG had Toyos on previously. They were Japanese manufactured ones and were OK. Apparently they've now moved to malaysia and, the MG being pretty sensitive to sidewall stiffness, when it needed new rears, it now no longer has Toyos on.

Hated them when I had them on my 172, on hard cornering, they just rolled the sidewall, absolute rubbish. Watched my friend drive my car on track and the car was practically on the rims. Hopeless in the wet too, zero feel.

Toyo T1Rs were 'alright' about 15yrs ago. Since then tyres have moved on, but Toyo haven't.

8years I bought these tyres for my MX5, found them very very soft. Pressures up felt skittish (of course). Even back then they were ste. Yoofs seem to think they are cool (?)

My new to me Type R GT has Toyos. The front feels wandery at speed. It feels uncomfortable.

I’ve never liked these. They feel too soft, like the sidewalls are squishy.

I once binned a set after just 2k miles.
