Out for a blast last night , windscreen covered in fly and moth debris , so in any other car ive owned would just put the wipers on with the washers but have never done that in the Griffith because they are lousy aren't they , the washers and wipers I mean ! is it just mine ?

the uprated Leven washers are good, but the wiper mechanism is pants...if the screen is dry, then you're getting out to help it home frown every Greif ive owned has been like that. (aka TADTS)

Use Rain-X on the screen. It won't stop the kamikaze flies but everything cleans off easily and you won't need the wipers when it rains.

I think this is just about "on topic" ... just back from epic trip to the Mille Miglia, and discovered the best ever squashed fly remover (German Autobahn flies hit the screen at unprecedented speeds!!!) ... facial wipes available in any supermarket for about £1 ... the girls use them to take make-up off (probably applies to Chimeara drivers too smile )
