If you have 8 million quid available to spend on a fking car then someone got shafted somewhere along the line, and you don't have to be a corbyn voter to be disgusted at such blatant inequality.

My biggest issue with it isn't that he's splunked £8m on a car, but that the best he could figure to spunk it on was... THAT.

Christ, with £8m, I'd have a bloody huge collection of all sorts of weird and wonderful st - and all the time in the world to play with it, because I'd sure as st never be working again...

I'm sure the customer has a whole collection of cars. The next stage in Ultra wealthy oneupmanship after you acquired your perfect car collection is to splash bonkers cash on a pimped custom shop job (pardon, a bespoke crafted piece of luxury!)

Blimey, you should knock that socialist chip off of your shoulder as it's really quite pathetic, envy is a terrible affliction.

You know what, we can bash this thing all we like but this guy gets to tell everyone he has an officially commissioned one-off from Rolls-Royce. Just one of the many amazing things about cars, people.
Different strokes and all that...

The owner has two F12 TRS as well as plenty of other special cars. Like the article says, he has yachts and jets; it's just play money.

From the back it's great; not sure about the rest of it.

Is there any evidence for this reported shafting?

Some of the comments in this thread are madness.

So the guy is rich, so what. He spends a vast amount of his money on things which keep a great many people in work.

The car may not be to everyone's taste but that's the point. It's a one off built exclusively for him. He has more toys than you can imagine so it's pointless saying 'he could of spent x on x'. He probably already did.

If people are true car fans you have to admire this car, even if you don't find it aesthetically to your tastes. But just the sheer uniqueness and extravagance of it is awesome.

It's not really me, but it's the equivalent of handbuilt Rolls, Mercedes and Hispano Suiza stuff from decades ago. Imo it's putting Rolls Royce back where it once was, makers (not manufacturers) of beautifully made luxury cars for the super rich. I bet it's an astonishing thing in the flesh.

Bentley on the other hand make cars for footballers and p1keys. A marque ruined.

Really? Why?

It's no more than a very large pile of money thrown at the question of "What can I have that nobody else has?"...
It's not particularly original, it's not particularly tasteful, it's not particularly stylish, it's not particularly well-thought-out.

Sounds a lot like zagato cars and yet people love those

I do believe that is the most badly proportioned car I've ever seen. Worse than the Ssangyoung Rodius because I do believe they actually attempted to style this, and still managed to mess it up.
It's hard to believe that for $8 million, someone didn't notice that moving the wheels back several inches on the body would have made this a beautiful car instead of a rather awkward one.

Off topic but there is a wider debate about the positives of any trickle-down effect.

trickle down effect is a lame bullst fed by the status quo. You cannot have a meaningful impact on the overall economy through the consumption of the top 0.1%. That's impossible by definition.

Depends what you define as trickle down

If you include working in say 'Topshop' are you part of the trickle down.

How many are employed by the top 1% in their business.

I bet there is more trickles down to the UK form the top 0.1% than trickles down from the UK to foreign aid.
