Those headlamps look very much like they were carried-over from a very different car with a very different front end arrangement.

A little tatty on the outside, but who knew such a thing existed - Hyundai S Coupe Turbo. Turbo script and boost lights as well. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYUNDAI-S-COUPE-TURBO-M...

Squeeze in... I wouldn't pay more than £2k

Unremarkable car, thirsty and relatively slow with expensive engine, it's the worst of all worlds

VW's styling of their warm/hot vehicles of that age was almost non-existant

Interesting snippet from the ad:

Fuel Type Petrol
Economy 0 mpg

Probably not quite that bad, but an 8 litre-plus 70s Yank is not gonna get into double figures very often I wouldn't think!

This is my favourite thread.

How about a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L V6 Auto T Top Targa for £4250. If only it were absolutely anything else whatsoever .

I fixed that for you hehe

Exactly, you don't worry about MPG when you can bounce round the hood looking like B.I.G. getmecoat

I think you're right; in principle and in everyone's mind it's a thang. But it's in the UK, and specifically in Leicestershire, and if you said thang out loud you'd receive, and deserve, a proper kicking.

This would sit nicely alongside my Cavalier. I'd probably do something about the wheels though.

hehe

At the risk of being a bit controversial, running US domestic market cars in the UK really does seem to be almost exclusively the preserve of proper weirdos. The 70s and 80s stuff in particular seems to attract the sort of man who you wouldn't want to see loitering outside a secondary school.

I disagree, my Dad used to deal in yanks, most were sold to big kids.

Yes a few took it too far (IMO) with the boots and hats etc

I'd point out that when my Dad started dealing in them - in the 70's and most were driving around in Escorts and Cortinas, I was being driven to school in Camaros, Trans Ams and Lincoln Continentals with V8's, power everything and AC whilst you may have had an optional vinyl roof or wing mirrors !
