I think you're right; in principle and in everyone's mind it's a thang. But it's in the UK, and specifically in Leicestershire, and if you said thang out loud you'd receive, and deserve, a proper kicking.
hehe

At the risk of being a bit controversial, running US domestic market cars in the UK really does seem to be almost exclusively the preserve of proper weirdos. The 70s and 80s stuff in particular seems to attract the sort of man who you wouldn't want to see loitering outside a secondary school.

This is my favourite thread.

How about a 1999 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L V6 Auto T Top Targa for £4250. If only it were absolutely anything else whatsoever .

I fixed that for you hehe
What a horrendous looking machine! Proper malaise era stuff

Drive something of this era and you wonder how they make V6s with apparently decent power feel so slow. Guaranteed this Camaro will be hopeless.

I had loads of st like this as hire cars in the US in the 90s and into the 00s. Book figure for that hideous blob will be circa 200bhp (which is amusing in itself) but it'll be remarkably slow for the power output; the apologists always talk about the enormous torque, but that was notable in it's absence too. Anything coming from Chrysler was the worst.

You can certainly see why GM & Chrysler flirted with bankrupcy for so long and then finally went bust. On the blissful occasions that I'd get a US market Camry or Accord it was obvious why only hire fleets and flag wavers were buying domestic.

I won't quote the picture again because it's been posted enough, but does anybody else get rather a strong whiff of Vauxhall Vectra from that Camaro's mirrors?

Just in case anyone needed another reason not to buy it.

£900 Mondeo ST-24. Front wing paint is off, but hard to find these days, suspect a white background photo will see it at 5995 soon!

Agreed, that colour really suits it. Would be a fun thing to smoke around in.

Deposit taken already.

Interesting little slice of late 90s motoring, and decent value for £900.

Similar mileage car featured as SOTW a couple of years ago:

The brown SAAB was relisted and went for £1,800

On eBay there's a silver leggy Volcane TD that's been modified, including forged rods, in the last 6,000 miles.

There is still a 3 door saloon, in brown of course, in daily use local to me.
A 3 door in brown? I think you mean bronze.

At least thats what I used to tell people. A bronze two door coupe. (2 door brown Nova was my first car)
