Never owned a convertible, but I definitely fancy changing that.
Depending on how "powerfully built" you are, you might want to consider a Z4 instead of a Z3 if you're thinking of a cheap convertible. The Z3 is quite small, and larger drivers can end up looking like a gorilla in a child's pedal car.

This particular Z3 looks very nice, and sounds like it has been well-cared for, from the advert description.

Strong money for a non-M Z3, but should hold its value if looked after.
I had a Z3 2.8 on service loan once, an absolute hoot of a thing. Sounded fabulous. Had me mentally channeling Toad of Toad Hall all day long.

Seen one on the road the other day, design is getting better and better with age. Looks lovely.

The Ad for the SAAB says check engine light comes on sometimes ,shouldn't be too expensive to fix that .

New MAF or a sensor .

I'm very tempted to call about this. I love the colour, 3.0 engine, and 6 speed manual.

It's an interesting curio, and it was ahead of its time, but I just don't get the A2.

Six grand for a ten year old diesel supermini? I'd rather get a similar age Polo TDI, and spend the remaining four grand on a nice Z3 or Z4 like the ones mentioned recently on this thread.

Brilliant colours. Nice find, even at that price (although I wouldn't pay that).

Slightly OT but has anyone seen a 4 seat convertible, or suggest one in line with the thread ?

To make things harder I don't want a Saab, BMW, Merc or Audi I'd like something different

I'm thinking Jeep, I seem to remember there were some rare Pajero / Rav4 that were convertible or a Yank

Jimny is too small / slow, it seems a Wrangler / Renegade is out of budget

It's cool. European chic in a way Audi could only dream of now.

A Polo is a car for someone who has given up.

There are some RHD ones of these around too, and some with a V8
They are cheap because yee-har Yank lovers don't like 'em and especially hate RHD Yank cars.

Sebrings are awful to drive, and I think it takes a special person to drive a PT Cruiser, let alone a soft top one laugh

And I think that is the point. A car hugely beyond its time, and with enough special engineering behind it to be interesting because of it. A kind of inverse Nissan Figaro, if you will.

True but the brief was a list of 4 seat convertibles not made by the usual suspects wink
