That would make a great opening to a Readers Cars thread.

The dealer selling it has some interesting other cars for sale - loads of classic Alfas and Lancias, an ex-BTCC car, some pre-war stuff... https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/user/ccts4092
They've got some incredible stock indeed lick

That's quite understandable. To give it some context: Advert says "The only bad point on this car is the hydraulic tappets are tapping"

I dropped this one on the 1-5k thread to find the seller has another!

Despite this merely having the 2.0 I'm cross posting from the retro thread because yum.

Think that is a guy near me, he was selling two of them. How do you end up with two ?! Must be a fan.

Here's the other one, 6 years newer, a few miles extra, couple of hundred cheaper -

My own car and much loved, sorry to see it go as I thought it would’ve been with me for much much longer. Selling up as living and working in London I’m going all ELECTRIC!

Lovely S124. Have a poke about in the usual rust spots to make sure there are no surprises and that would be a great family wagon.

The car could probably be converted to EV to a high standard for less than the cost of a new EV. That's how I'd be doing it.

I will now commit a cardinal petrolhead sin. The mk1 Audi TT in 225hp quattro form is a better car than any Integrale ever available to the public. Better built, more reliable, better looking, faster.
Having driven both (owned an Integrale, mate owns several TT) you're wrong - as the used prices also suggest

The Audi, like 99.9% of Audis is missing feedback and fun / character and I'm not even a huge integrale fan as I prefer RWD
Not suggesting it's a more tactile, more involving car, just a better one. I was hugely dissapojted with the first 'grale I drove but it was only an 8v, 16vs are huge fun, but have the build quality of a paper aeroplane made out of wet toilet tissue.. standard for standard, the TT is a quicker more usable daily, it is better built, it is more reliable. Its just not as desirable for most. Yes the Lancia will get to 60 faster but who cares. I know what I'd rather be driving if I was in a hurry on a Scottish Highland road at night in January in a howling gale and pi$$ing rain...to finish first first you must finish....

By GNB's stated criteria, he's right. And by yours, so are you.

But I really want an Integrale, and I don't really want a TT.
Exactly... beer I'd have a 'grale in my lottery garage, but I'd have a tt as a daily...

If you click on that link and scroll the results of other cars their search criteria returned there's a silver one for £4K that says it's had 26 services and 2 cambelt changes, it's listed as sub 100K mile too. Silver with a blue roof and looks like black leather.

OR... the car was bought recently, has since revealed itself to be a bit of a dog, and the seller is getting rid while values are strong. The seller seems a bit hazy about whether or not the car was SORN'd for the last 8 years, and " I thought it would’ve been with me for much longer" is a slightly odd turn of phrase in a used car advert.

I did think that line in the Mercedes ad was pointless & only raised suspicion. Having looked at probably over 100,000 ads, maybe even 200,000, sometimes these sentences are enough to immediately set alarm bells ringing.

It's still a nice-looking Merc, and ticks a lot of good boxes (six cylinder, estate, A/C, seven seats). I'm probably being too cynical!

Posted this in the barge thread but belongs here also -

Well there was some love for the Senator so how about the Carlton - the description is mighty impressive. Kind of surprised it isn't more money bearing in mind some crazy recent prices.

Another Omega, looks good, a bit over the top with the leather polish. Think the wheels are from a later model. Low mileage, low owner car -
