Having owned 2 of these it tempts me, but its just too much and has been sat on ebay for months
Also after one. Can't decide S1 or S2, but really depends on what comes up and condition. There's some real nasty un-loved examples out there, or they are 300 miles away! (always the way...).

Might bump into you at a viewing if a decent one ever comes up at a decent price, and I will elbow you out of the way...

There's a few more 106 GTis (S2) around, but for me I'd really prefer the Rallye.

(owned an S1 106 (1.5D Escapade N704 ADU) as my first car - fond memories smile )

Early (J-reg) Clio, rare 'S' model, done 33k miles. Far from concourse but looks like a cracking little car for £500 OVNO.

Fantastic little find. Good looking car as well compared to the modern rubbish. I bet it rides nicely as well.

Until the bonnet flies open on the move because the catch has let go!

("Characteristic of the model, Sir; they all do that!")

Keeping the rust at bay on that era Clio is some achievement

Thers's a bush on them that wears. Change that and it transforms the gear change from awful to bad.

Not a bad old thing to drive though with the Ford V4

What a wonderful looking car they really were. Every later incarnation has just got uglier, fatter, or both.

I have found it necessary before to complain about people spoiling my perfectly good posts by bringing facts into it.
