1952 VW Bug: I understand why the 50s market fell for this car. Compared to other period propositions the bug offers a complete although basic package which comes to me as stylish even! Surprisingly brisk drive.

Backlit beauty.

Glasses!

Basic and stylish.

R107 300 SL & S-class 300 SEL:

Fantastic cars and still on the road.

With the 3 litre 6 pot this is a great cruiser.

IMO together with the Alfa Spider (105-series) one of the best daily classics to be enjoyed.

Three very special Porsche 356 specimens:

Amazing trio of fantastic runners and owners who care.

A landscape of patina on this coupe.

The other end of the spectrum is this grey beauty. I could not keep my eyes from this 356.

Last bits from the 2018 Huizen Oldtimer Day:

Late Corvette C3 showing off.

A guy with a Peterbilt collection gets my vote!

On a smaller note: gorgeous late MG Midget.

More of that unbelievable Porsche (+VAG) collection:

Early Porsche 930 gets my vote.

End of the show!

So, what about the Triumph TR7:

Triumph TR7 is a beauty. But what is it like to drive? The seat is promising and the interior looks nice. But... is this the car after the TR6? The four is far from anything special and performance is, well: cruising.

The specced TR8 I drove a few months later was a riot though. But then, it was updated at a cost...

I so wanted this to be something special and it just was not. Most available TR7 cars are bad and restoring can be a search jobbie.

It looks like a million Dollars though... Great 70s looker this.

Fantastic looking 'new' Morgans:

Look at that: the perfect roadster?

Interior is not to be compared with the older 20th century models.

Pon Porsche Leusden (NL) kindly lend me their heritage collection 1968 Porsche 911T 2.7 RSR spec.

It was my eldest daughter's 16th birthday and I took her for a ride in this 1.050 kgs 250 brake hotrod.

Very well put together car. A bit noisy though.

Well, the shell is T-ish... External oil cooler, very big Webers and full rally interior.

Dutch Police started with 356 and kept on using Porsche for Highway Patrol until the 964. A lot of fandom started right there wink The cars shown are part of an exstensive collection. Our regular Dawn Raid group was happy to get the tour.

1977 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 S2 is where I want to be now:

Very chique S2 on Webers and a very relaxed drive.

Clocks with sun blockers: purrrfect.

Owners chatting, Dinks snapping. I liked the Bianco (2 litre double Solex) best. Pure and raunchy and less refined. IMO a 105-series needs to provoke a bit of abuse.

Dutch R Grupper: this car paved the way to so many great Outlaw efforts.

Cayman yum.

2010 US spec GT3. Owner took me for a 3 hour drive to a local Porsche workshop and I can now say this GT3 is one helluvah allrounder. More racing than rally but what an absolute riot to experience. A bit too much for my liking TBH.
