I don't think they are. Rich people don't usually become rich by being stupid, which you'd have to be to blow a hundred grand on one of these.
Well said, and spot on. They might sell a few, but it will only be a few.

If you want an old Mini, its authenticity and pedigree that counts, and this isn't it.

Oh and those rear lights are awful.

This. I like it and I wouldn't mind the price tag if I were in the market for a retro car, but for that price I would expect a better than average performance on the basic model - this is slower and less powerful than a Honda Jazz. It's taking' the pee basically.

I'd rather my an early Mini and build it myself. I like the whole rest-mod ethos but this is just way too much money for what it is. The rear lights are bloody awful. Especially when you consider how right the original, early lights were.

Isn't this just jumping on the Singer / Eagle bandwagon?

It's cool, but not as cool as a nice original, sympathetically restored, with all the money you'd reasonably need to keep it in tip top condition for 10 years in the bank, a daily to keep the miles off it. And enough change for a nice holiday.

As someone mentioned before though, car enthusiasts are not the target audience for this. It's a trinket for the wealthy, and will sell as fast as it can be built.

All credit to them, but for that money i'd rather rebuild something with real provenance.

I drove this great car at Top Marques Monaco at the beginning of May.

I even met David himself.

It was tight like a new car well crafted and plenty of fun around the streets of Monaco.

The car is much better than the original and retained all the characteristics of the original mini, a true honor in remastering this British Icon.

Thanks

This was one of the cars I was looking after at the London City Concours. I spoke to the makers about the car for some time and looking round the car, it's finished to a really high standard. Judging by the clientele at the event, it will end up being an addition to their already impressive Car collection for the man who has everything. Would I pay £100k for one? Not a chance. Ferrari all the way! Haha.
this is the one i drove

You recon? There are thousands of people to whom 100 grand isnt worth the effort of bending over to pick up if they dropped it, and those are the target market, those who dont really think of 100 grand as being significant. Footballers, kids of oligarchs, lottery winners, many people. Its not a car in the sense ph people see it, its a trinket, they might buy it and forget to get around to driving it.
You've clearly not spent any time trying to get money out of rich people for your products or services. In my experience it's a nightmare. Any excuse not to pay or defer payment.

Trust me, if AC is too loud or the touch screen keeps freezing the car will be returned.

I think they're gonna struggle.

Really trying not to be rude, but, why wouldn't you just buy an original in concourse condition?

I really don't get this at all.

Darling, I'm going to buy you a beautiful classic car. Which of these do you prefer?

*shows her pics of*...

Alfa Spider duetto
60s Fiat 500 Abarth
60s/70s Merc SL
Battleship grey Mini with Max Power tail lights

I don't know what she'd pick, but I doubt it would be the last one.

Hell, if it's £100k, why not treat her to a Porsche 356, Ferrari 355 spider or an E-type Jag?

Wonderful cars, great idea but seemingly poorly excecuted here.

This is a Mini worth spending nearly £100k on:

The rear lights are awful, The thing is, personally if I were after my ultimate mini
I would just buy a shell and build it to my own spec and colour scheme, and it wouldn't cost £100 grand, that sat nav just does not belong In an old skool Mini imo awful
