It's a dogs dinner of a car just like that Godawful Aston recreation
Agree with this. Singer and Eagle take iconic cars and seem to make them even more beautiful/ desirable. Wow, they are expensive, but somehow acceptable (yes, ok not to everyone). DB decided to recreate an icon.....and failed! OK so the Aston looked...er....like it was the bd child of a DB5 and a Jag XK (was it the latters running gear? Something like that). What a fail that was. Let's now take a Mini and.....er......
DB, many buy in to the idea of an enhanced recreation. The clue however is in the word 'enhanced'....

The difference between this and the Speedback GT is that even with those rear lights I can see this working for the people it's aimed at, whereas I really couldn't with the GT.
.
The fact they sold enough clusterfk GTs to warrant a second iteration of it however means I don't understand the people it's aimed at at all.

This is one Mini that may be worth that when complete.

Well worth a watch, that is episode 15 but start at the beginning and spend an interesting evening, if thats your kind of thing.

Horrible.
They've managed to throw away almost every feature that made the original
So endearing.

Nasty grill....check.
Messed up dash/instruments.....check.

Not for me.

Agree with others, 15-25k put into an original mk1 makes far more sense.

I can't wait to see one in the West end and laugh at it.

Erm... no sorry, can't get past the cost.

I can't help but think that the bits that are good - the seem free, straight body and the interior couldn't demand such a high price, it's the fripperies like the sat-nav and air-con that, even on this rarest of rare days when the sun has got his hat on seem a bit unneeded on a high days and holidays car.

None of it matters, I'm not their target customer, but I'm also pretty sure that if you walked into the best car restoration specialists in the UK and said - make me a really cool Mini, it wouldn't cost that much - it might not have a touch screen sat-nav, well not one that's not stuck to the windscreen anyway - but it could well have a better engine and box if you wanted one, all around disc brakes if you wanted them, a beautiful interior if you wanted one and it wouldn't cost half as much.

A really nice original sliding window car (Cooper or not) would be good to use, give you an authentic experience and perform city tasks quite well and be lots of fun. It would make the right noises too.

This expensive thing is madness.

Harry Enfield does a great sketch that portrays the buyers of this car.

What an abomination......whoever created this should be banned from the motor trade forever.....earlier comments quite right, if I had the money to spend I would buy a correct period car.....
