I know this has been done to death but I am done with the AA after them taking the piss a few years ago, and my previously sensible RAC quote has gone through the roof this year.

What do other people do? I don't do Euro stuff so I'm not sure there's any point in ADAC. Had a look at Green Flag but they seem to want to cover one car, and if you go for personal cover it's only on cars up to 16 years old.

What I am after is roadside + homestart + relay for me and my wife on any car we are likely to be in (hers is 9 years old, mine are myriad and range between 13 and 27 years old). I am sure my AA/RAC cover covered my 1991 Saab. Having said that, I can't see anything in the booklet about an age limit on my "personal" policy...

If you have Tesco clubcard points you're not using for anything else, you can get RAC cover with those.

Just phone up the RAC & they'll drop your renewal quote.

Does it work differently to RAC?

I think they may have changed it but the way autoaid worked was that you called them when you had a breakdown and they arranged the 'rescue'.

You then paid the person who turned up directly and claimed back the cost from autoaid after the event.

I seem to recall that the process is now that you call them as before but there is no more claiming back of the costs as it gets billed back to them directly.

I have never had to use their services but I don't have an issue with either method given the level of cover they provide for the cost.

Thank you for that.
