Dealer sold me modified car without my knowledge

Many cars are run with non genuine parts, this doesn't mean they are modified.
If the alloys weren't available as a stand fit option then they could be classified as a "modification". I doubt standard alloys sprayed a different colour would come under that classification. Many people get their alloy's refurbished and doing this wouldn't invalidate their insurance.
If I paint my car white, it's a modification. Might be more appealing to thieves etc If the alloys weren't available as a stand fit option then they could be classified as a "modification". I don't think it's performance, it sounds standard compared to clips on YouTube of the standard exhaust. But my mechanic mentioned the shoddy welds.
The wheels painted different is definitely a mod, same as painting the car, or wrapping it surely?
If the wheels were painted differently then why did you buy the car if you knew it would affect your insurance!!The wheels painted different is definitely a mod, same as painting the car, or wrapping it surely?
Did you not see the pictures or use your eyes when looking around??
Sounds like you bought it first and got an insurance quote second and now want out.
Buy a second hand set of wheels and move on ffs and next time you buy a car, take your guide dog with you.

I'm not going to get involved in a question of semantics.
If you feel you have a reason to reject the car then go seek some proper legal advice, but the answer you get may not be the one you want. Either take the hit or sell it yourself.

You've 'lost confidence' in a car that has different colour wheels and has had a new exhaust?
No, he has lost confidence in his manhood beacuse his mates Focus is faster.Did he find out that it was modified and send it back?

I admit I got carried away when test driving it and put a deposit down there and then. Did you not see the pictures or use your eyes when looking around??

I knew the wheels were a different colour already you mug. Did the dealer tell me this? No. How is a standard Joe Bloggs meant to know what OEM wheel colours are? It's the dealers responsibility to tell me this, otherwise anytime anyone buys a car, they'd have to round to each body panel and ask if it's standard or not.

Mate, you're an idiot.
He is. Posting under a pseudonym to try to avoid the flaming he's had so far on the same issue. Same plonker wanted to try and revoke the application for change of keeper with the DVLA because he thought it would force the dealer to take the car back.Edited by r11co on Saturday 24th June 13:09

I want to return the car ideally
You want to return the car because it's modified, or because you've gotten cold feet? The modifications don't sound intrusive if you've bought the car and not noticed an aftermarket exhaust until an engineer has told you about it. You had the opportunity to get it inspected before you bought it, and to query the modified parts status if it were a deal breaker.
Doesn't solve your insurance problem, but thems the breaks.
Edit: beaten on the whole buyers remorse call
