This blew up on my local FB group over the weekend as another resident had to stop some traffic so an old lady in a wheelchair could go out into the road to pass a car totally blocking a pavement.

The state of one response:

“They probably parked there so emergency vehicles could pass”

It’s a wide straight road that would be easily passable with a car parked on it and my guess is the village sees about one said emergency vehicle a week at best. We know it’s passable because cars are often parked there and bin lorries etc never have an issue. But it does go to show the mentality of the aholes that do this.

This was abandoned at the entrance to our road, making it very difficult to get in or out!!!
I’m seeing a bit of a trend forming with ordinary electric vehicles, parking in the typical Range Rover sports spots everywhere.

I do wonder how many owners have gotten used to having EV only spaces right by the entrance of supermarkets and shops.

I'm looking forward to having 'privileged' parking when the car eventually turns up. smile

At this rate by the time that happens it may be 'privileged' queuing... frown

Homebase car park - white car turned up, left back wheels outside of the parking lines. Ranger rover in front row also too far back / hanging outside of the box ….

Silver car with 4 builders turned up a couple of minutes later…

Photo taken from reverse angle - all 3 cars way outside/hanging over into the road.

Looks to me like everyone has wrongly assumed the gutter is the space boarder.

It only takes one…

Once a load of cars turn up on the left covering up the actual divider line, nobody on the right would know that it wasn't the gutter and would in any case have no choice but to drive as close as they can up to the car in front, probably wondering why their space is so short.

That is a terrible design and will always be a mess.

Rubbish, you'd be able to see the line under the back of the cars as you pull up.

Glencoe Sat 14th May.

I'm sure the Transit parked just fine but post parking care seems to have gone downhill...

Apologies for the poor cropped dashcam capture, 170 deg field of view makes even the car that hits you look miles away.

Better pic and story here.

To be fair, a Superb is a big car - mine takes up the full length of a normal sized parking bay.

I think the point is they have yards of space in front of them, I always check just in case some PH is lurking in the bushes with a camera laugh

Some from around my way

Standard delivery driver parking. If only there were somewhere safe to park

School run (taken at school kick out time, albeit a few mins after the main throng had dispersed)

And a neighbour whose XC90 pokes out on to the pavement, which in itself isn't too bad.
But they then allow workmen and visitors to park across their drive

It’s an old girl on an 08 plate, good for the dog, tip and Asda. Park it anywhere and not worry if it gets another scratch

I'd get any of my three in there, including my old Convoy van.
