Unsymmetrical cars - The new Discovery

Not a car I know, but on the topic of symmetry I'm baffled by the styling of the BMW S1000RR
I know I'm going to go to Hell and/or get flamed to death for saying this but I can't help of thinking of Forest Whitaker every time I see on on the road.
I think it gives it character and a more aggressive look.I know I'm going to go to Hell and/or get flamed to death for saying this but I can't help of thinking of Forest Whitaker every time I see on on the road.
I did laugh at your Forrest Whittaker comment though
The Disco needs more than a face-lift, they've changed its entire target market, increasing the price and comfort tech dramatically, removing the option of a commercial model. They've basically turned it into another Range Rover and drove all of their returning Disco3/4 customers straight into the plush leather of a chromed up Jap/Yank crew cab.
I wonder how long it's going to take them to realise just how much they have dropped the ball, and if they will bother fixing their mistake or just end the model line entirely.

The Disco looks worse because it's not necessary. As others have said, earlier models were asymmetrical for a purpose but this design is asymmetrical simply to carry over something from the earlier models.
A real shame because I love the look of the Disco 4 but (if I were in a position to buy) I'd now find it hard to justify a 4 when everything about the 5 is better except for the rear design.

Jesus, take a walk on the wild side people.
Quite, it surprises and baffles me no end how upset people seem to get over styling matters. Years ago countless PHers got terribly upset over DRLs, Bangle era BMWs still wind some people up to heart attack threatening levels, many PHers will "never buy a Mercedes again!" over the "iPad stuck on the dashboard" affair, etc.It doesn't really matter guys. It really doesn't.
And yes this is the nth thread on this matter.

aybe for the commercial buyers, but certainly no-one else. A D4 has no rival among pickups.
Tell that to the 3 or 4 posters in the last thread talking aboit 4x4s (OP was complaining about the prevalence of pickups, tattoo'd gym hard man stereotype was chucked about) who where talking about using pickups as family carsThey are really becoming the only option if you want a simple, tough, 4x4. New ones all have glammed up interiors, with leather seats and infotainment systems, aimed directly at the old Disco market.

BMW seem to make their lop sided bikes look good, but this new Discovery just looks wrong, even without the odd back end, it's actually quite bland. The 3's and 4's were good looking and looked the part for the type of vehicle they were, now they have turned it from a relatively utilitarian car to Range Rover Light(ish). They'll sell loads, but look like they've left another door open next to the one they left open for the Defender.
