I've been considering an M140i for a while. A few weeks ago, I put together a quote for a 5 door automatic with heated leather. I recieved several offers, and my local dealership has came back to me with a quote of £327 per month based on £4000 down, 10000 miles per year, over 3 years with a service pack, provided I purchase by the end of June.
Couple of questions:
1. Is this a good deal? I've never purchased a car on pcp before, so its all new to me
2. What are the running costs like on these? is 30+ mpg really achievable in everyday m25 commuting?

Any comments or help greatly appreciated

I had an M135i for nearly 3 years on a pcp. I traded it in a bit early, but that's not relevant.

I put down £3,000 and was paying £381 per month over 48months based on 12,000 miles per year. Car was specced to around £35k list.

That was the best I could get at the time, having played five BMW dealers off against one another. I'm aware the deals are a bit better now, yours seems ok.

I'm not the expert though.

Oh, and I averaged 28.1mpg (manual car so auto will be better and the M140i is more efficient to boot).

Most of my driving was a horrid commute into West London. On motorway runs you can genuinely get close to 40mpg. 35mpg should be the expectation on a varied but fairly traffic free drive. Once managed to average 46mpg on a 60 mile motorway only run at 65mph.

yep not a bad deal

I have had an M135i myself and loved it.

But i did buy a 420d M sport 1 month pre reg and put £5k down and came out at £327

have a look at immediate delivery on BMW UK site they have a few pre-reg cars and if they are less than 3 months you are still eligible for new car finance

The guy has been ringing non stop all afternoon, I'm wondering if I should push for a better deal?

Mate's just bought an M140i, on 5k miles, lifetime average mpg is 32mpg on a car that has had mostly motorway usage with a bit of bootage where possible.
Cracking car, provided you never look at the outside of it. Sounds good too.

Check out the TRL calculator on babybmw.net. Sounds on the expensive side to me but worth double checking.

As a comparison I paid 29800 for my 5 door auto with quite a few options...

Cracking little cars, picked one up last month.

With a 5k deposit I'm paying £320 a month on a car specced at £38.5k.

You won't be able to say it's your car.

Who's paying for it then? Who owns your house?

Very much a pistonheads "yawn" post...I suppose you own your 5 bed detached house outright, never borrowed money in your life and are frustrated that the government won't let you put any more money in to you pension or your isa that sits at £1m plus.....

Your paying for it but don't have much to show when the lease is up.

It's not a lease, keep up at the back.

That's just the choice you make, saying "you can't say you own it" makes out you are somehow cheating or kidding yourself, it is just another OWNERSHIP option, you move on to the next one.

Back onto the topic from what I've seen advertised that sounds like a good deal. If he is phoning you all the time then low ball him and see if he folds. Use it to your advantage and bring him close to tears when you come down and sign on the dotted line.

Have just ordered one of these myself on PCP, the first time I've bought a car this way but I tend to keep my cars for a while so will be looking to pay the final figure after 4 years and will most certainly be treating the car as 'mine' for the next 4 years.

I've gone for quite a few options and managed to get £8500 off, so am paying £215 a month for 48 months with a 10k deposit.

The best offer I could get was £210 a month from drive the deal, but I chose to buy from my local dealer as I will be using them for any servicing.

Call Berry bmw Heathrow, and ask for Tony Lewis. He is the man when it comes to the M140i, no haggling, just his best price.

I'm not Tony btw
