Hmm, I thinks it's 26 cars in 28 years, so I've had to guess a few but will go with an average of 145bhp.

However the first six average 77bhp, and the last six average 265bhp.

Overall power to weight is about 120bhp/tonne with the first six being 85bhp/t and the last six around 160 bhp/t, mainly due to a pair of heifers a year or so ago.

Impressive - think you are the first person to break the 300 bhp mark!

Was your first car a 200sx?!

Also very impressive considering the Astra would have dented your numbers somewhat.

This is interesting, whilst I should be working I have collated my data.
I have only recorded my main driver.

Conclusions

At each life stage I'm at least doubling my average bhp

I'm forecast to be driving at least a 430bhp car over the next 5 years

Life average is 188.7 bhp

I've just realised I've been driving 30 years almost to the day... yikes

Current daily driver has 10x the BHP of my first car

Bob

p.s. I've tried to maintain my insurance spend since the beginning - i.e. if your insurance cost reduces, then you probably need a faster car.

Technically yes.. biggrin The first car I owned was the 200..

I was insured on my dads Shogun (petrol V6 ~ 160bhp) for a good few years before that. so if I include that then the figure drops to 290bhp across the board (or 268bhp including the Mrs' CR-V, where I'm the registered keeper) smile
