A scirocco would maybe fit the bill? I have one as a daily and you can really get the seat nice and low.
Better than most but getting into the GF's Scirocco feels like getting into an MPV (I do have an Exige though...)

BMW's tend to be a nice low driving position so a 135/140 might fit the bill?

As a 6'3" gangrel with a long-ish torso, my Scirocco seats will go a little lower than I actually need, which is surprising. Brilliant driving position too. I didn't have any issues the the 208 GTi that I owned previously either; put the seat down as low as possible and steering wheel up as high as it goes and it ended up with pretty much the ideal driving position. I have driven too many cars (and working in the motor industry I get to drive all sorts) and am still astonished by how comprehensively wrong manufacturers get this.

You sit nice on low in the EK9 Type-R from memory.

Very interesting replies, thanks a lot! I understand that higher sitting position is an inherent design quirk of a hatch to allow for more room inside but hoped some of them would sacrifice a bit of space for better driving position and seems all is not lost. R53 Mini is of particular interest as I've been contemplating it as the next car. Will have a closer look at it then. A good shout about EK9, forgot about them. Even cooking spec Civics of that generation were low and had great driving position, alas the quick ones are now becoming ridiculously expensive. And as much as I'd love a DC2 I can't see it happening right now.
As a side note, it's not that I'm tall, I'm not, it's just a (silly) personal taste, maybe stemming from karting days.

I had an EP3 Type R, someone mentioned that the seating position is lower than standard, it may well be, but it still feels like you're driving a bus compared to a GT86 (which happens to have the best driving position on Earth).

My favourite driving positions in cars are the following:

Original Honda NSX
Toyota GT86
Lotus Elise

After a bit of driving, you do get used to any driving position, though. High one's no longer feel high, low one's no longer feel low. This is particularly true if you have good sports seats. You feel the difference more when you go from one car to another. I'd much rather have a car with a good driving position than a car with a luxurious interior.
