Dealer Photos - no prep done...

When second hand car hunting, I sometimes go to these big chains and large dealerships for the sheer morbid curiosity of seeing what you get for massively inflated prices over market value.
They're kinda convenient for general browsing if they're close, not sure if a car is comfy to sit in? Head over to your local dealership to try before you privately buy!rampageturke said:

That's literally the only reason I'd visit - quite easy to get a test drive arranged at places like this too, and they need never know I have zero intention of spending even a quid on the coffee machine.I sold my S3 to this chain recently (unfortunately for personal problems ) deal was good and very smoothly handled, however like above a few days later I looked to see if they had my old car up for sale and indeed the pictures were shocking . Before sale I'd cleaned her and somehow they had actually managed to get it filthy and make it look purple (was a dark blue) photographer should be shot

Screams Motability return to me.
Although perhaps an unorthodox choice, and unsure if you can put a (frankly dire in this case) personal plate on one?

So crashed into a kerb and quickly disposed of at a car supermarket, brilliant.
They are doing you a favour advertising it in that condition!
They're plenty of clio sport 200's about.
The search continues OP

Funny you should say that...
I browse AT and PHC every few days and have noticed a growing trend this year for such "raw" photos of uncleaned cars. For example, was looking on the weekend at a Honda Integra Type R with scruffy seats and dirty mats.
There appears to be a growing trend for no-prep cars. Do buyers now want "reality" shots like they see so often on TV, YT and socials?

Recently helped my grandparents buy a trade in from an EH main dealer (vauxhall) and was really shocked at the whole place. Unfortunately they were desperately after a rare car that their local EH happened to have so I didn't have much choice. I phoned to make an appointment to see it, we got there on time and had to wait about 25 mins while they tried to find the car, including the salesman walking my elderly/disabled grandparents all around the lot in vain - the car was in the service centre.
Apparently it was a 'runaround' so 30 day guarantee given and nothing more. No prep would be done and it was sold as seen. I noticed the bottoms of the N/S doors were slightly corroded, however a repair was refused. In the end all I could get them to agree to was for us to pay them to repair it at cost price - on top of buying the car. When I challenged them about SoG act and 90 day guarantees they said it didn't apply, however tried to sell a years extended warranty (with a £500 claim limit) for about £325. Later spotted that the paperwork said 'trade sale' - all a bit naughty.
On top of that we were charged a £99 admin fee for them to sell us the car. I tried my damnest but couldn't haggle it off so ended up paying it. Again, if it the circumstances were different I would have run a mile, however the car was in great condition and fairly cheap (apart from the doors).

EH are utter s, they tout they are manin dealer but how can they hide behind illegal 30 days warranty
There was a time when if you traded as and marketed as a trade centre then trading standards would accept this if not they would accept that no warranty other than good title was necessary beyond point of sale.As EV well knows this and competent lawyer can destroy a small claims case by an unknowning private individual and they are ultimately right... you pay your low ball money now collect your low ball car.
Is it "low ball money" though?
A main dealer tried dodging their obligations to me after a fault appeared at 5 weeks telling me upto the aftemarket warrant company.
They wilted after I kept up the pressure and agreed to a full fix "as a Goodwill gesture" at day 13 of my 14 day letter.
So please. No. They won't destroy anything
