(Un)intented purchase?
I got my first estate 15+ years ago because we were going to get a dog. It was an Impreza which went all over the place carrying bikes, ski and climbing gear. Next I had a ZTT400 that did similar, plus towed my race car. My pregnant wife even slept in it at Croft when the tent collapsed. I've moved on to 7 seaters now but am looking at Volvos as petrol+manual SUVs/MPVs don't happen.

And I still don't have a dog.

I've recently picked up an E91 330D M Sport, with a bunch of options. It is currently performing all duties thrown at it, extremely well. Highly recommended!

Bought a 3.2 Vectra estate and it is an excellent load lugger, lots of space especially with the seats down. Estates rule!

I don't buy new or flash cars anymore & currently own a thousand pounds worth of old 407. I'd never not buy an estate & find saloons a bit pointless really, you can even put the seats down sleep comfortably in the back of most estates if you need to.

Estates are cool, had 4 as second cars over the years just for the dog run, tip run and I can honestly say I would miss one if I didn't have one.

My estate is now an M5 touring with 507bhp and I hoon across Europe several times because I can. The touring is such an epic car for any long distance journey.

I do have an urge to fit a tow bar to it so I can tow my E30 M3 just for the fun of it smile

Recently purchased a BMW f11 after months of looking. Have wanted an estate as an everyday car for a while now, it's great. The perfect family car.

I got an entire 11 unit ikea kitchen In the back (worktops on roof racks) of a mk2 focus estate, the picking list had a total of 697kg in weight, dragging it's arse down the outer ring road in leeds but it got everything home. I think I heard it breath a huge sigh of relief when unloaded.

All to save 25 quid of a delivery charge, just what the fudge was I thinking?!?

All 5.5 litres of it.
Will take a palette in the boot with the seats up.

I had mine over last Christmas and I remember going to see my parents with my sister in the passenger seat, the rear seats (still up) full of suitcases, the entire boot filled with presents and decorations, with a 7ft Christmas tree strapped to the top of the car. Having the legs on Civic Type Rs and E46 M3s whilst carrying a small nativity play was extremely satisfying.

All of the stuff pictured would have fitted in the average hatch smile
Estates look better though

thumbup I'd love one of those, but they're a bit nice still for the crappy single track road I live on.

It is a bit big for small roads. I commute in a cheap hatchback as a result.
