Not sure that's true. Its been bandied about over various forums for a number of years. The chap who actually drove the Cerb on that day said it was a completely standard 4.2 Cerb, he was just lucky enough to get a very good start.

I doubt anything he said though would compete with the internet rumour mill though.
I have it on very good authority that it is true. Being lucky enough to get a good start in a standard 4.2 Cerbera and beat all those other top cars by that margin is laughable. Everyone knows that the bhp figures TVR quoted for their cars was optimistic and Wheeler was smart enough to ensure that cars given to the press had top engines in them.
The 4.2 is a great car, but you're right, there's no way on earth it's that quick.

New video of it moving on TVR's YouTube channel posted today. Includes a bit of a 'moment'. hehe

Looks like the wheels may have been painted too.
Still looks very Japanese to me.
The looks, the sounds and the reactions look very TVRish to me.

The sound does. But this could easily be a Mazda/new GT86 type car.

All ears as to what your authority is. Especially as that means the chap who drove the car was lying. They would be interested back on the Cerbera forum as it was all settled some time ago back there. The history of the car in question is well known.

USP of car is that it's lairy, and true to TVR's past.

so....

Video (posted on the official company Youtube channel) features expletive from the company director, and a 'moment' where the car bit back a tad.

Hmmm. Imagine my surprise hehe

Has anyone yet said, "I'm so impressed with this car that I've been straight onto the website and placed a deposit"?
https://www.tvr.co.uk/deposit.

So far as I can see we've had 74 pages so far with very little sign of money changing hands.
Hi,

I did just that with my deposit being paid on the 9th Sept.

My take on it.

Impressive roof design and side profile, particularly with the exhaust design and layout. Very impressed with what I have read and heard on the aero and engine that's been incorporated, albeit I will never get anywhere close to exploring that on the roads back home. The front and rear profile of the car has grown on me with the vastly improved photos doing the rounds. The wheels I like and the interior looks fine.

I have no idea as of yet if I will be in the running for the launch edition car, as the invoice clearly states the box ticked is for preference only.

Exciting times ahead, a new chapter for TVR and I personally feel it's been a great effort so far.

Me too, I was tempted prior to the reveal, but I wanted to see what it looked like first.

Put mine down a week ago. They said there were LE cars left, I think a few have jumped ship, but nobody really knows the numbers I dont think.

I did say deposit was conditional on an LE car, so we shall see.

Personally, I think the interior looks pretty good, stty stalks aside, but who cares...

The air vents in my Ferrari 599 aren't a whole lot better, they are made of.... PLASTIC!!!! (as is a bunch of other trim, despite lashings of carbon fibre). I'm pretty sure they were ste volvo bits in my aston martin. I dont even recall what the stalks were like in the vantage...

You know how much they detract from the enjoyment of the car??

ZERO!

And this thing will be costing a LOT less, NEW!

For me, this is all about, light weight, big angry v8, tidy interior, I'm REALLY hoping for a bit of luggage space, (looks like there's a bit of a boot, not seen the screen opening? Something like a side opener on the 570GT would be wonderful), the looks may be marmite, yes, the front is a little "short" maybe, but there's some lovely curves going on, looks dead smart from the rear to my eyes. Eagerly awaiting a chance to go and have a look in the flesh and a sit in it!

Thanks.

That's really not a huge amount of money is it? I wish they'd fix the front, I'd be tempted to invest if they did.

According to chap I spoke too on the stand, by the end of this year hopefully. That will be the real test. If it goes around the Nurburgring in under 7:15 then front end design tweaks won't be as important.

Interesting too that article in Car Magazine refers to a drag between the mule car and a standard Cerbera and "it blew past like it was standing still"! It's seems to be another league in performance. Without doubt it will be the most engineered car TVR has produced.
