Hi,
I have been trying to locate a set of the sagaris steering arms.
Much to my dismay I have found it impossible, no one has them or is holding on to them.
I think my only route now is to either find a drawing or some kind person willing to lend me one so i can get some machined up. I have access to to machining immediatley.

So, anybody have one laying around they would care to lend me ? obviously the favour will not go unnoticed.

Thanks

I have been looking for these for ages. Hens teeth are more common. I think St8six had a few sets that they sold off but unsure if they had the drawings. Wanted them for my Tuscan to help the bump steer.

I think Str8six do have a drawing, probably, but I had no joy when I enquired to either requests.
Surely somebody may have one I could borrow for a couple of days, even a day.
Anyway I will just be patient smile

Ok, really stupid question.

Why can't you just get hold of a set of existing ones from a Sag and scan them for machining up?

I made these for my sag so I could mess around with bump steer but i don't have them fitted to the car at the moment & they still need material machining off as they are heavy. I currently have the std Sagaris arms fitted. You could borrow these along with a measurement of the std Sagaris swan neck if that helps to make your own set

Would it not be easier/better to measure the required geometry for your car and go with that than get a part made for a car with different suspension layout?

This every time.
What are you hoping to achieve anyway ?

Just looking at options to improve the handling for day to day use on A and B roads, reading through posts and speaking to people that have the later sag arms fitted, say its improved and feel less twitchy

IIRC didn't you post the pics of the T350 with the bump steer kit fitted with rather a lot of bump toe out when being lowered on a jack?

A new source will emerge soon... I’m guessing this source may have a more popular price.

On a cerbera but yes that kit was a joke.. something like 8 degrees of toe variation. Be very careful what you change.

Now those look pretty awesome. What sort of money are we talking for a set of those?

Well I need to make more than one. A batch is being made this week and they need to be sent off for three stage gold zinc plating.
Price isn’t finalised but I’m trying to keep it sensible and realistic. It will be less than any one else has sold them for.

I may be being a bit naïve here but why do the steering arms need to be zinc plated rather than just powder coated? Is it due to the heat process during powder coating affecting the material strength?

Zinc plating (especially with a nickel plating first) gives superior corrosion resistance to powder coating. Powder coating is great until damp gets underneath it from cracking or abrasion and then it eventually peels off. Arguably more important is plating is much thinner so will not mess with the dimensional accuracy of the part. Powder coating can vary in thickness depending on the operator.
