I was following a Duster on the motorway the other day. I was in my Mustang and he was sitting at 100mph. I gave up as I like my licence but it looked steady and solid.

My guilty secret is that I REALLY want a Duster 4X4, in Access spec. It's just so perfectly spartan and utilitarian!

Plus it's K4M powered, which means the Twingo 133 engine will drop straight in, as will an F4R from a Clio 200 or the F4Rt from the Megane 275. The latter with a decent IC and a remap will do over 300BHP.
Haha spirit of PH award for considering an engine swap on a Duster!

I quite like the idea of one as a back up tip/bad weather/whatever car.

But the thought just pops in to my mind that it's a Renault, but built down to a price. yikes

Have to interject here, I've sold 10 Access Sandero's, however 8 of those have gone to be used at Heathrow (or Gatwick, I can't remember, pretty sure it's Heathrow! ) airport.
To be used as courtesy cars for VIP guests?

Does anyone make a sticker that simply says Great News! to go in the back of your Sandero?

I had one as a company car a while ago. It was top of the range with the 1.5 dCi engine, 4 wheel drive and 6 speed gearbox. I was really pleasantly surprised how good fun it was to drive! Yes, the plastics, fit and finish did feel cheap (even though it was the most luxurious one they make), definitely cheaper than on my poverty-spec 10 year old Clio (even though a lot of the parts looked to have been made in the same mould), but I genuinely loved driving the thing. I guess they skimped on the sound deadening, as I could hear lots of turbo whoosh and wastegate noises, which were quite entertaining. The 1.5 engine has a VGT, so no turbo lag at all, and the 6 speed gearbox with close ratios made it surprisingly spritely. The steering is not awfully precise and a bit overassisted, but wasn't bad by any means. For cost reasons Dusters have a hydraulic rack, so it was much better compared to the electric steering on many other cars I've driven (anything from VW group especially).

All in all, if I was in the market for a proper SUV, the Duster would be on the top of my list. Thankfully, I'm not wink .

Haven't driver a duster but had a logan for a week in Romania a few years back, brand new only 2K on the clock, Enough tech to do what's needed, only complaint was the seats weren't as comfy as I'd like, either way was perfectly fine and if you want a new car for little money then why not?

4 pages and no one has mentioned that they come with 2 litre petrols in other markets, clio 200 engine swap anyone?
Technically, with enough shoe-horns and some brute force. You could probably squeeze the Renault L7X in there.
3.0 V6 24v VVT 210bhp. And 7000rpm of lovely music !.

Yep I like what the Duster does in the current market of overly kitted aggressive ste - I quirky, back-to-basics car with proven mechanicals and cheap running costs.

^^THIS

What's not to like? It's not compulsory to have one. If it's not for you, get something else. But it gives people the choice.

Only problem is my PH neighbours think I'm squatting in the stairwell of the residents car park frown
