Just wondering if anyone has any advice/insight on tyres, particularly the new Michelin PS4S?

Car (997.1 GT3) came with N-spec Pirellis which could do with being changed in the next few months. Reading reviews online, the new Michelins seem to be good in all weather conditions. So my thinking is they'd be better during the winter but would be good to hear from anyone that has changed to these tyres.

I have had Michelin Pilot Super Sport (MP4S father) for around 4 years on and 25k miles on 7.2 GT3. They are more sure footed in wet weather and plenty grippy enough on public roads. Not taken the car on track much.

Also quite long lasting.

Great all round tyre.

Great to hear. Seems to be in line with what reviews say... looking to do more track days next year and in the back of my mind think a separate wheel/tyre combo may be the way to go. But for winter use the thought of improved wet weather performance is appealing. Current Pirellis haven't been hugely inspiring during recent downpours!

I used Bridgestones on my 997.2 GT3, with a mixture of road and track use, and was quite happy with that option.

I only have a 997.1 C2S, but I have PS4s front and back and fitted them about 3 months ago.

They are amazing tyres, easily as good as the PS2s I had before, you do have to be a little careful in the wet, as the front will wash out, but I'm very happy. £900 the set, fitted.

Come November I have a set of Sottozero Winter tyres for the rear, which will be going on. But this car is my daily driver, and to be fair all I need is safe traction in the cold Cumbria mornings. I'm not flinging it about over the winter.

I have a 997.1 GT3 and the Pilot Super Sports have just been replaced with the PS4S.

Too early to give you any feedback at the moment (the stickers are still on the tyres) but I am hoping for good things....if not then I will go back to the Pilot SuperSports and these were truly amazing in wet and dry conditions.

please post your feed back, as I am in 2 minds about the PS4S over the MPSS, yes it's a great tyre, and yes it's far far better than the MPSS in the wet.

I just feel it lacks the feel of the MPSS in the dry and feels a bit stiffer in the side wall, and also makes the steering lighter.

I have lowered my front to 27 PSI and that feels loads better. but PSI for PSI the MPSS felt a nicer dry tyre to me.

In the wet the PS4S has the older tyre licked, I really can push on with these tyres when raining for sure.

I am picking hairs here of course, but I have a few cars to run back to back as you know and always ran MPSS.
I could never fault the MPSS as in the rain I just drove slower :-) but PS4S vs MPSS it's a tough one, for me in summer the MPSS wins.

Yeah I agree, the MPSS tyres in the summer are amazing.

Like I said its early days for me so I cant say for sure if I like them or not but I will definetly report my findings when the weather picks up again.

From all the road test reports, the PS4S outperform the MPSS in all areas but 'feel' is a different thing.

As I said earlier, if I dont like them i'll put MPSS back on and stick these on ebay biggrin

Is Michelin continuing production of MPSS with MP4S becoming available?
