IF TVR can do this for £90k what are Lotus playing at where that old Evora is £110k ?

Some thing don't add up in Lotus land. TVR have sold more than Lotus have all year.

How much longer will they be milking the old TVR teat before this car tries to back up the claims on a road/track?

TVR haven't sold anything? Other than taken deposits?

Reminds me of my S Series 3 TVR. That sounded like a kit car when you shut the door just like that did....................

I'm not sure on side exhausts. They sound really odd from the side as you can only hear one bank

Is there a prize for telling people you hate lotus on every thread regardless of subject rofl
I'm quite bad at moaning about the evil vag empire and there awesome ability to sell absolute crap to fashionistas for inflated prices
But even I can't compete with your impressive compulsive obsession with lotus it's almost stalker like,

I hope all goes well for them, I hope they fully prove the design and reliability before letting people take delivery of cars..................

By the way, If I had to spend £90k on a TVR I would buy an original V8 Griffith from the 60's. Now that is a car, ok it gets too hot inside and is dangerous in the wet, I had a 289 Tuscan ( V6 conversion to V8) back in 77 - 80 - thrill a minute and the best sense power/noise I have ever experienced.

I'm still disappointed, I wish it all the success available as I'm a life long TVR fan (had four and two of them Griff's) but it doesn't do it for me and I think they should have given it a completely new name. Just my slant.

Before Les switched off the engine I thought there was some noisy KTM style bike behind the camera. I really hope it's just bad acoustics, the car sounded great in the Goodwood launch video

Looks like it's got a side exit on each side, so as the camera was on the right hand side of the car you can only hear the right hand bank firing predominantly.

You want us to lie about it instead?

I wonder if the strange sound could be mitigated with a cross-pipe somewhere. I get the feeling that it has to have side exits because the flat floor design isn't capable of ducting the exhausts for some reason (heat, space etc).

Side exits on the Sagaris don;t give as bad a sound as they are right at the back, but in this layout, you only get one side/bank of the V8 and no noise from the other side.... Exhausts can't go down the body and exit at the back due to the flat floor design, which is considered a very important feature by TVR/GM in this car.

In the Cerbera mule car used for testing the engine and exhaust sounds awesome !

Same reason Vipers mostly sound like 5 cylinder cars, rather than 10 cyl ones (except they have a funny un-even firing angle as well..)

You would normally bridge the two manifolds with a jointing pipe to even out the pulses, but this may not have been possible as the pipe would have to run under the sump looking at the exhaust layout- so I select that slightly power boat sound is as you say, half a V8 per pipe.

Enjoyed that, really refreshing to see. I'm not a target customer but I'm looking forward to seeing something which is very deliberately NOT a clone of a Porsche/Ferrari/McLaren on the roads. Imagine the cheer you'd get doing a burn out in that at Le Mans Mad Friday!

In other news, is that Gordon's Smart Roadster in the background? I have an S1 Elise now but strangely still miss my Roadster...
