Hi,

I've posted a few times about buying an older car and had some great replies. But each time ive had to spend my savings on other stuff.

Anyway, I have the chance at a 57 plate Mazda 6 Tamura 2.0 ltr petrol. 130k miles. Service history to 119k. £900.

Reg: PE57 JXA

Can anyone please let me know their thoughts on this? Its fairly local to me so I'm tempted. The only thing I'm worried about is how thirsty it might be and the mileage?

It seems around the right money there's not much to worry about apart from rust due to the paint being thin.

Here's one for comparison:

Just make sure the lower arms (front) are ok, they are expensive and you cannot buy the ball joints separately. They are £200 each aftermarket and £350 from Mazda

I wouldn't worry about mileage on a modern car.

as long as its servicing is in-line with those miles then mileage is just a number. if it is overdue a cambelt or has regularly missed services or has had 3 services in that 130k miles then it is not a good buy.

Doesn't look like anything untoward on the mot history, just a tyre. Common problems are usually tyres, drop links, coil springs, bushes. The ball joint covers seem to split and on the 6 you cannot replace them without the arm

The mileage would not put me off
