Never heard of Cyril Lord. I would have guessed Harris Carpets (now Lord Harris of Peckham or some such nomenclature!)

This is luxury you can afford by Cyril Lord —
Squash it, and it just springs back,
Wash it, and the colour stays fast,,
Give it the treatment, the family treatment,
Enkalon is made to last for years and years and years and years….
This is luxury you can afford by Cyril Lord!

1001 cleans a big, big carpet for less than half a crown!

Enough already. I'm feeling old now.

I've been trying to give it up but it's one of those nights!

(This turned out to be uncannily accurate today)

An old mate of mine, his brother in law worked in advertising. He killed the shake'n'vac woman off (not literally) The same mate was responsible for nat west (I think) using jean michel jarre music on their adverts after the brother in law heard some music Tim was listening to

A mate of mine's father was part of the team that came up with the Homepride series of ads. Apparently they had long meetings arguing over whether the Homepride man should have a nose or not. Important stuff.
