I'm curious, as to all the snake oil out there, why did you see these and think "Oh! they'll work, perfect. Get me some of that"?

How many beer tokens did you spend on these magic diesel beans?

I didn't pay anything for them. As to whether they 'work'; what do you think that I think they do? Honestly mate I wouldn't waste my time replying to something I thought was a load of rubbish. These sort of forums are full of people with no life, and no car knowledge. I bet you havent seen a socket set never mind used one?

What is their function? Catalyse what?

As for getting them in, could you remove the low pressure fuel pump without disconnecting the lines and just drop them in?

The name I keep seeing cropping up in connection with these "fuel catalysts" is Broquet International. Originally sold as a means of avoiding valve seat damage when running engines requiring leaded fuel on unleaded without having to have the valve seats hardened (which every test proved they utterly failed to do) they seem to have been re purposed as a magical fuel economy and emissions improver.

The company has a track record for spouting bullst regardless of the alleged efficacy of the device, so I'm oot!

That was my first idea. The electric pump and sender unit is easy to get to, I'm guessing it either screws in or a type of bayonet fitting. I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove both fuel pipes. I'm not a chemistry expert but the light research I've done suggests that it slightly lowers the pressure required to combust the diesel. They are more widely used in areas of poor fuel quality.

I haven't heard of Broquet. I only know 2 people that have used such catalyst. Guess what? 1 lad swears they gave him increased fuel economy and the other says they are a waste of time. I'd buy into the notion of it acting like a cleaning agent thus logically would make the engine more economical. Whether noticeable or not is another matter

I have a Toyota avensis d4d 2.2 on a 55 plate. I have some catalyst pellets that I wish to put in to my diesel tank. They are roughly the diameter of a 10p piece and 4 x the thickness. What is the best way to get them into the tank taking anti syphoners into account?
Presumably they dissolve in the fuel, so why not dissolve them in a can of diesel and then pour that into the tank?

So you get them into the fuel tank and they just sit there? Forever?

Not dissolving and not chemically affecting the fuel in any way yet still providing some magic fuel system cleaning function, slightly lowering the pressure required to combust the diesel or somehow improving mpg (plus many other placebo benefits not yet mentioned).

Ace, must get me some.

Don't forget to add some fuel line magnets to that order now...
