It’s called toothpaste. It’s the next big thing.

On a serious note, looks like no handovers tomorrow now, snow has hit pretty hard!

4 tomorrow for me and 4 on Friday, however the forecast for tomorrow is horrendous, it wasn't even that bad this morning but still took 2 hours to get in (normally 45 mins), so I reckon there will be a fair few cancellations.

I went to look at a 2016 Octavia estate 1.4Tsi. £13k. Offered WeBuyAnyCar valuation on my part exchange which has full main dealer service history and was bought from the same dealer. No movement on sticker price or trade in.

I'm now thinking that with the same model quoted on Drivethedeal at £16k with my choice of spec and paint colour etc I'm better paying the extra £3k or so + delivery and getting a brand new car.

But enough of that waffle. My question is - the salesman was pushing Autoglym, GAP, some glass treatment, etc. Finished up adding £1k on to the sticker price with everything included. Do many people actually buy all the optional extras?

People with poor credit who don't want the deal to fall though.

Quite a lot of customer do buy this stuff, depends on the car the salesman and the customer, for example where I work about 50% of people take autoglym on new cars, 30% gap, used cars we don't tend to sell many products but the odd one.

Yes, and it's going to cause chaos because of the other handovers already booked...looks like the sales execs might be doing some of their own! I do have a 78 year coming in to collect his new car, because he refused to be rescheduled. Let's hope he doesn't do anything foolish getting here.

This is the 1st time in 10 years I haven't had a car go out on the 1st of March, where we are customers just don't seem fussed anymore or in a rush to have the 18 plate.

Plenty of their cars are here and ready but they have all said no not in a rush next weekend or next week is fine.

I've had all of mine cancel. MD has said we're all to go home at 2pm. I'm just about to go and dig a Freelander out to get home in. Fun fun fun.

I don't do handovers as I'm fleet, but I have cars being delivered today and have my fingers crossed they all arrive in one piece!

I am in the office tomorrow to do a handover though, first 1 in 12 months! It's for a PHer though, so I don't mind that one as long as I can get in to the office ok in the morning!

HTP, Ripley was rubbish yesterday, I went through there to avoid the A3 carnage as did lots of other people judging by how heavy the traffic was eek

I took GAP, but then I have a BMW with comfort access - given the tales of keyless thefts, it seemed wise! I’m sure I could have sourced it independently for less, but I was happy with the overall deal...

Not sure if this has been asked before but why do a lot of adverts show the rear seat belts in the locked position? (i.e. where the buckle is clipped into the holder).

It seems pointless and, if anything, it makes the car look untidy. IMO anyway....

Its like with any of the products you can get them cheaper elsewhere, but if you are happy with the service you would be willing to pay a little more knowing you are being looked after and supporting the dealership.

Probably just been though a M.O.T. which would test the rear seatbelts, the tester wouldn't bother undoing them again.

Quick question - car up for £6000 at franchise dealer, I want to buy it cash... I know they'd prefer finance but is there much wiggle room on money off? Would they likely move £300ish for a quick sale as it only went through the bodyshop for mot today.

I would assume so yes, no harm in asking

Referring to the tendency of chucky duffers to agree to every add on, accessory and insurance, without asking for discount and then uttering the immortal words, "The finance should be fine....Shouldn't it??"
