Please could any kind dealer help me out deciphering a car HPI/MOT history issue with a 'cheap' cayenne turbo?
In a nutshell the reg when HPI'd comes back clear and has the correct details but only lists one MOT mileage (the current one)
The gov MOT history site is the same - only the current MOT is listed - no past trail.
When I add the chassis to the HPI report it says it doesn't match. Ive not physically seen the car but the chassis number/vin has been supplied to my by the vendor
It's a black Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 82k miles
If anyone would be kind enough to lend their help I'll PM the details
Many thanks in advance!

All JLR cars have had remote start still 2015
From a key remote or an app that allows you to do it from a useful distance away? I may have found a new contender if they also have heated screens. Sadly adaptive cruise seems to be a rare option on most other marques.

Sales manager asked me to give them 5 stars across the board in the survey if happy it’s now sorted! Guess they must set some store in them?
The manufacturers certainly do, with all kinds of childish punitive measures for anything less than an 80% score, or 100% "Would you recommend this dealer" style CSI bks. As it's my last day in this anachronistic, moribund industry I can say absolutely honestly I will not miss a single facet of it, apart from the people who I have worked with. Simonium said:

Open apart from Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year's day, however shut midday on Christmas Eve and 16:00 on NYE.
We are open Sunday 23rd which I think is pointless though.
However I'm off from this evening until the 2nd.
December is a funny one as it can get quite busy towards the end, we were dead until last week.

I did look at 5 Series, E-Class, A6 etc. but very few of them at that price range had ACC, and none had heated screens or remote start. A couple of Jag XE's seemed to drop close to the budget but they weren't at main dealers, with warranty etc.
Totally aware that these things are available on most new cars either as standard or an option.

Certainly not standard on all. Mrs SB's 65' plate Discovery Sport didn't have it.
InControl Remote was standard on them all. That enabled you to lock the car via the App, see the trip computer data, recent journeys and last parked location. The remote start was standard on all autos but obviously not available with manual transmission.Have you got both the auto box and the InControl Remote app? Subscription was included in vehicle price for the first 3 years. Anyone know what they are charging to continue?
It's now standard on all cars. In the US it's FOC for the duration of the 4 YR (5YR on Jaguar) warranty.

That doesn't surprise me. People are busy doing Xmas stuff up until the big day itself. Then Dec 26-31 is a rare void when many people are off work, there are no other competing demands for attention or time, and it's a good time to contemplate major purchases.I've definitely booked a few holidays and bought some big household items around this time over the past few years.
Hi,
Apologies if this has been posted before, I got up to page 100! A really interesting insight. I was just wondering, I am going to handover this afternoon to pick up a second hand car from a dealership, is there anything that salesmen particularly appreciate? Eg bottle of wine etc? I feel our salesman did a really great job, very friendly, not pushy, listened to us, found a car that suited hs really well etc, but I feel a bit bad for him that I’m buying cash and turning down all the add ons which I know is where he would get good commission. I wouldnt even mind giving him a 50 quid cash tip but feel that would be somewhat inappropriate. Any suggestions very welcome, thanks

Tick all the top boxes on the inevitable questionnaire and mention his good service in the comments bit. Apologies if this has been posted before, I got up to page 100! A really interesting insight. Cash in a thank you card is also most welcome.

This wasn't in car sales but I was once an estate agent and one of our sellers was very pleased with the service received and asked me what brand of suits I liked to wear. On completion day I received a thank you card containing an M&S voucher which I was very happy with Apologies if this has been posted before, I got up to page 100! A really interesting insight.
