This is gorgeous and rare - green leather Rolls Royce discussed a week ago and now this comes up.

That's absolutely lovely.

The annoying thing about Rover at the end was that the 75 was 100% the type of car they should have been building - comfortable, a great daily, non-sporting, but with ample leather and wood that more than made up for the lack of 'M SPORT'ness.
well yea... except the market wasn't big enough to keep them afloat (despite an ageing population), and the old man image was heavily criticised at the time.

Would anyone be interested in my P1 V70 TDi, had it for a year now and contemplating something else. I reckon less than 1500 price wise?
I sold mine last year, TDi SE with leather, winter pack etc and £800 of recent cambelt, service, recent discs / pads etc and from memory I got a little over £1k as a private sale.

Was expecting a little more looking at sold prices. May just keep it if that's the case.

They are actually holding up pretty well (they don't rust, spare parts cheap and easy to source) and several loyal owners' clubs and fora mean the amount of online knowledge is second to none as it's all open source knowledge and not kept a trade secret by dealers. There s even a cottage industry supplying parts including bits that are improvements to various original design faults.

The catch is you have to be a member of a club really so you can get an idea of what your car needs. Any engine problem as most garages will say "Rover? Head gasket!" and chuck in K-seal or something and create a set of problems that weren't there before. For the record the diesel is a BMW engine (no head gasket probs), the V8 is Mustang (no HG probs), the V6 had a design of HG that didn't usually go, and only the 1.8 four pot had HG woes and most of those still on the road will have been changed by now anyway.

Find a mechanic who understands Rover 75s and their twin the MGZT is who is rated by the fora, and you are good to go. Servicing my V6 by a retired Longbridge engineer costs me around £100 including oil.

Spotted this at the train station car park on my commute this morning. Worse ways to get to the station!

Not sure I could deal with the drop in stepping out of that onto a train!

I'm terrible with my rollers, is it a Silver Spirit as the MOT checker suggests? Reason I ask is all of the Silver Spirits of the era on Autotrader have square headlights.... Any Rolls aficionados to help me out?

I believe it's a common mod to fit these style headlights but don't quote me what car they are from
Recall seeing it on wheeler dealers once? smile

Yes, they're Mulsanne headlights. Earlier Bentleys had the rectangular lights too, they switched to the 4 round headlights for Bentleys part way through production.

Over budget but a rare thing indeed. The V6 petrol Citroen C6. Not keen on the colour or cloth

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173171800983

Great find, that must be incredibly rare! Imagine the surprise of the dealer when someone walked in and ordered that. For some reason I see these C6s as being one of the few cars that is acceptable with a (v6) diesel engine. Like you I don't like the colour (a dark hue would be far better) and the cloth is a shame.
It is a nice spot. The disfiguring scuff on the rear wheel arch is a pity.

I suspect that 7 grand is a bit salty for an 11-year old petrol French car for most tastes, despite its appeal here.
I had the petrol in black with leather and hate myself now for selling it. However I couldn't give it away and after no viewings I sold it to the Citroen dealer I bought it from for a pittance ( 3years old 60k miles for 6k!!)
