new Exhaust fitted and a fresh MOT with no advisories!!

That's lovely. Do you have any more details, pictures, or a reader ride thread? I would really like a w126. How do you find the 300 engine?

Old Merc (same seller as the beige estate, above)

I doubt it'll stay in thread budget.

I just posted that on the retro thread. I am interested to see where it ends.

I like it but the tints would have to go.

To say nothing of the cultural vandalism that is removing the star from the bonnet!

Most factory-stretch W124 limos are either Wedding White or Bereavement Black but here's an ex-embassy Almandine Red example now domiciled on the Isle of Man for tax reasons. It's a mid-facelift with larger grill and gingercators but with the dodgy-wiring LH-Jetronic M104 2.8 l6 - and it's quite jaunty, as people carriers go.

I think I might look for a W126 SEC, maybe a 420 with velour.

I waited for the deafening silence to die down.

It leaks, it misfires when turning left and has a battery drain.

Just spoken with the owner. Nice guy. Very open about the car. Has a blown heater fan which will be a bit of a fix. He'll be looking for nearly double thread budget, but that particular car might well be worth it. Am tempted having been to see a dog of a W108 280SE today

Call me picky, but I'd want some more options for my 5 bags! Nice colours though.

Remember Rowan Atkinson’s 500E that was going through auction? Did rather well...

Nicely written ad, too, though the copy bears all the hallmarks of a seller who's seen one too many tyre kickers in his time. laugh

Seems like a sensible chap, I would imagine he'd bite your hand off at £3,500, after your tactical offer of £3,250 was politely rejected. Yes, I am buying this car in my mind.

I know technically the paintwork is red, but really, it's brown over brown, which is gloriously period correct. My wife would HATE it, which makes me love it even more. hehe

Would anyone be interested in my P1 V70 TDi, had it for a year now and contemplating something else. I reckon less than 1500 price wise?
Tell me more? biggrin
