That's very nice and not over priced Seems like a sensible chap, I would imagine he'd bite your hand off at £3,500, after your tactical offer of £3,250 was politely rejected. Yes, I am buying this car in my mind.
I know technically the paintwork is red, but really, it's brown over brown, which is gloriously period correct. My wife would HATE it, which makes me love it even more.

Nicely written ad, too, though the copy bears all the hallmarks of a seller who's seen one too many tyre kickers in his time.

The ad states £3250 ono. If it was mine I would bite your hand of at £3500 as well as its more than its advertised for Seems like a sensible chap, I would imagine he'd bite your hand off at £3,500, after your tactical offer of £3,250 was politely rejected. Yes, I am buying this car in my mind.

A nice looking 545 with head-up display and comfort seats, just a wheel refurb away from loping quite nice!

This E500 has appeared before I believe somewhere near Liverpool.
That Designo leather and suede dash must have been horrendously expensive when new. It's getting closer to me!
I know this is under minimum thread budget, and my numberwork is already on shaky ground, but bear with me... It's man maths.
Buy it for £500, spend £500 doing some basic stuff to get it back on the road, then a further £500 doing the odds and sods that come up after you've been driving it for a bit.
£1,500, all in.
Man maths.

I’m assuming this slightly affected the haggling process?
It’s caused issues to say the least! More info here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...r129sl said:

It's running lovely after a service and 4 new tyres.

The E500 and 540 are a huge amount of car for the money. Likely to offer frightening maintenance costs?
IT'LL BE FINE.My Barge 1-5 logic is that the lower down the range, and the more disely you go, the more the focus on cost cutting to drive economy. An e500 or 540 would not have been a real victim of that [NOTE: 0A LOGIC].

The most sensible cars I've owned have actually been the most unreliable and expensive to run. I'm currently deeply regretting not buying something silly and sub 15 MPG, instead I have something that gives me a solid 30-35MPG average but leaves me panicking every time a new light appears on the dash (which is every day).My Barge 1-5 logic is that the lower down the range, and the more disely you go, the more the focus on cost cutting to drive economy.
