things like rs129s e430 (found the thread) and this BMW make me really want to pluck up the courage to join the barge squad:

Have you listened to anything I've said recently you wannabe masochist? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-BMW-745-LI-V8-AUTO...
Mechanic I use is adamant that LPG and BMW engines don't go well together, not sure how true that is though.

This E500 has appeared before I believe somewhere near Liverpool.
That Designo leather and suede dash must have been horrendously expensive when new. It's getting closer to me!

That's very nice and not over priced Seems like a sensible chap, I would imagine he'd bite your hand off at £3,500, after your tactical offer of £3,250 was politely rejected. Yes, I am buying this car in my mind.
I know technically the paintwork is red, but really, it's brown over brown, which is gloriously period correct. My wife would HATE it, which makes me love it even more.
He mentions a 'hole', but squint a little... you're going to fall inside that!

If I can move my E430, I'd like to have a crack at the leather fetish E500.
Looks lovely. Just been out in mine. Such a capable car. There can’t be many around with that extended leather. Just the sort of car that would be seen and beautifully photographed outside the thread’s favourite north London dealer.

I never was that bright (NB - for anyone reading, I've changed my username from Stilljoe coz it was starting to irritate me for some unknown reason).Mechanic I use is adamant that LPG and BMW engines don't go well together, not sure how true that is though.
I've just bought a very sheddy civic so I didn't rush in to getting a barge that is already borked (as it will need to be a daily and I'm not exactly laiden with disposable cash), then R129 starts talking about selling his e430 (although I'm assuming it will still be out of my budget) and a few gs430s start appearing on ebay. As I said earlier - I need to grow a set and take the plunge

I had a 745i and enjoyed it very much.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-BMW-745-LI-V8-AUTO...
As to this one, it always astonishes me that someone will photograph a car to sell having not even been bothered to Hoover out the interior...

Replacement seat or a repair and that thing would serve you well and be a lot of fun.
I popped out to Screwfix in Shepton Mallet today - I know, living the dream - and saw a silver W123 4 door saloon being driven. It looked immaculate and brought a smile to my face and an 'up' to my thumb.

I've no idea what colour are Cypriot taxis but I like it. Not silver and not Obsidian black but somewhere in between. Whoever ordered it new was happy to order what he wanted
Off topic - (can anything in this thread be off-topic?) From extensive knowldege (we have a place there), they tend to be white/cream/black/some weird pale mustard yellow not quite the German style (or like the DE style but sun-bleached ).Like most of Cyprus, the taxi drivers have an interesting attitude to rules & regulations - red lights tend to be optional/give way at night, and speed limits in towns are disregarded completely, yet rarely hit outside of town. There’s also the retiree contingent who like to drink & drive (still), knowing that so long as they can get to the side of the road & turn the lights off, they’re very unlikely to be spotted (and you can see a Cypriot police car from afar at night, as they always have the lights on - if they want you to stop, they turn on the siren).
It does look like a very nice car though!
Picked up this lil' beauty yesterday: an Audi A6 2.8 quattro auto. Generally good condition and drives very well indeed.
It's going in to an Audi specialist to make sure it's worth spending a bit of cash on.
It deffo needs a rocker cover gasket and thermostat. I expect a few bushes will need replacing as well. I own the S6 version of this Audi as well, but it needs a bit of love and care before seeing the light of day again.
I'll likely start a thread in Readers' Cars
