That doesn't look 13 years old at all. Back to Autotrader I go!

Are the automatic gearboxes reliable?

If it's a proper auto (IE - a slush box) then you'll be fine.
It's the ubiquitous ZF 6 speeder. The plastic sumps leak, and they really need their oil changed periodically or they do tend to expire at 150k or so. I believe Ross on here had his properly serviced on his E65 with good results. You see the odd manual V8 around, which does appeal.

I really like how these look, a colleague bought a 645i and had one niggling but surprisingly difficult to fix problem after another. Worth finding out if the 650i fixed the annoying oil and coolant leaks of the 645i, or considering a 630i if you're not a speed demon?

The 630i is quick enough I'd say and is apparently usefully lighter than the V8.

I have a 645 and love it. The shape has aged very well, and it is a quick car.

Always laugh when I see, "First viewer will buy", sure fire way to ensure I'd avoid like the plague!

Whilst I agree about his wording, I've bought two cars from this guy for my cousin and can vouch for him. They're half an hour away for me and mainly get their stock from the local BMW dealer trade ins.

Have also dealt with this guy.
Pleasant enough experience.

Then I stand corrected if good feedback from fellow forum members!

'Leathers' is an absolute, 100%, close this advert right f**king now, for me!
It seems to be more of a down south thing as I never heard it for the first 18 years of my life.

Remove leaper, add body-coloured grille surround and remove extra badges and I think you'd have a nice car:

ETA: Also indicator tinting

That car (unsure if same owner) has been up a bit over the last 12 months.
I remember emailing it to my Dad.

Will be a very desirable car soon enough.

Some of you chaps may recall that I was trying to sell a Merc 124 cabrio. There has been some interest in amongst the 'best price innit' lunatics, but it hasn't gone yet and, with the prospect of having to find storage for it looming, I've made a bold price correction and dropped it to £9750.

Ads are on PH, C&C, Autotrader and ebay if anyone's interested. Some of you have seen it and will probably recall that it's a fine-looking thing, in excellent condition and very well-maintained. Some say that they also make you irresistible to those of your favoured gender but I can't claim that's worked for me, although it has seemed to attract an ever-growing sibling fleet of old Mercs so maybe there's something in it?

Thread-rates available if anyone's interested.

GLWS Charles

This looks like a rather appealing prospect: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Just wish my father in law hadn't made me an offer to buy his FZ1 that I couldn't refuse (now need to sell my fazer 1000 before I can get properly back on the car trail)

A fantastic price for one of the best examples of these wonderful cars out there. I'd just find some storage and keep it. Plenty of garages advertised around here, or see if a friend has space. But then I'm useless at selling cars. I am not the one to advise.

This really is the right time of year for convertibles as well. Here's mine (formerly yours!) a few moments ago. £50 of fuel sucuessfuly burnt today without any particular destination in mind, just a nice drive on a crisp autumn day. Wonderful.
