It's surprising to see that the GT's front splitter is appreciably higher from the ground than the RS's in all the photo's which may be either a good or a bad thing depending on your point of view. I'm guessing that the drop into Track or V-Max might be too low for road use but it does look a little too high as it is, purely from a cosmetic standpoint at least.
The GT has in-car adjustable ride height IIRC, so presumably it was set to road spec for these shots..
The NFGT has two ride height positions 119 and 69.8mm, it's not adjustable.

if that article price is correct and a Ford GT costs £420,000 then that's just ridiculous...
Unfortunately it's likely to be more than that - Ford still won't confirm what the price will be in the UK, but from what we (on the list) can glean from various sources, it's unlikely to start with a 4 (and that's before you add the rather pricey options)!

Why on earth did Porsche get added to this?
Seriously, was the quota of three Porsche articles per week in danger of not being met?

Honda NSX is half the price and IMO doesn't fall short in the looks department and you still get a nice V6 with the stats to match.

I'd have one but not for that price new. For that sort of money my eyes would be looking at a Lamborghini Aventador.
I reckon you haven't seen a GT in the flesh. It could be terrible to drive and it still looks worth £420,000, easily.

Good writing adds to the meaning and imagining of the subject; not so good writing merely dresses up basic ideas, such as those which made up the majority of this report.

I have never heard anyone say that GT3 steering was better than the better hydraulic racks. Maybe it is better than the Ford, but lets not rewrite the history here, that electric steering has become better than hydraulic.

About the handling differences between these two cars, there was scant info provided amidst all the flowers. Evo mag still is so much better- on the rare occasion they choose to be, than the rest when it comes to actually describing a cars dynamics. thanks

I think differently, in so far as to say, Car Magazine does an equally good job of it and more frequently! ;-)

As for this, I share your sentiment.

As a 991RS owner I found the comparison interesting. My sense though is that the only valid comparison is on a track, and the Ford will be significantly superior.

I cannot imagine anyone using the GT as a regular road car, whereas the RS is very civilized indeed.

From the day I was born ( a long long time ago ) this & the original GT40 are the only Fords I would ever want or be seen in.
As for Porsche, every oik, secretary or rich twit has one these days.

That's what I thought reference just having two positions. To be fair it's probably no bad thing it being a nice distance from the tarmac for road use, it'll cut down on those teeth clenching moments when the owners can't avoid the inevitable lumps and bumps our roads are only too happy to provide and I can't see that any aerodynamic limitations of having it higher would make any significant difference at road speeds. Just doesn't look as good as having a nice low front and ride height that all. Would be interesting to compare this to the P1's ride heights.

Eloquent and interesting - and not too AFf-C.

More of Nic please.

"[a sill that] ...your correspondent still traverses with all the elegance of a gorilla climbing into a canoe" Brilliant!

Also, it makes a nice change for a PH article not to require proof-reading by the readers!

Very well written in my opinion, thanks. Has to be the GT for me, looks epic. Although LHD would be a serious ballache!
