No one pays £100k for these or anything else.

Almost all of these cars go out on HP/Lease deals and get given back after a year or 2.

It's far cheaper than buying one and suffering the crippling depreciation when you sell it.

I doubt anyone buys one and keeps it until the finance is paid off.

I like it, there’s no question it’s going to offer astonishing performance, not just for a 4x4 but in general terms, interior looks great, exterior, it’s not as good looking as an RRS SVR, nor is it likely to be as capable off road, but I’d still have one over the RRS if I were spending £100k on a 4x4 any day.

You pay for the depreciation the car suffers over the term of lease.

Dislike the styling and cancelled my order. Have a Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo coming instead ( better road car and AWD for road use anyway),and keeping my old Cayenne as a hack.

I understand fast/good handling/sporty, and I understand big/raised height/wafty (I currently drive a Range Rover). I don't really get fast + big; I tried a 4.2 diesel Cayenne and it was scary how fast it was, because I was so conscious of the inertia of the thing. I just kept thinking "whoa, slow down!"

If you can afford it and you just want the ultimate rapid SUV, it's the best choice there is this side of £120k (or whatever the lease payments are). I just think it's a bit pointless for those that do have bottoms to their pockets.

My 2013 Cayenne is on 295/35/21 tyres all around. These were an option from new.

That would be a stonking car as a daily, some serious performance on offer with a lovely interior as well.

The interior is top notch, can't wait to see it in the 911. at last something that looks like a clear ergonomic and technology upgrade over a 997, well done Porsche.

I just can't get over the front-end on it, wow. No doubt it will 'look great in black' but it does indeed look like a panel has fallen off which is sad because the rear is decent.

I will need to see it in the flesh at the OPC, if only for the interior. I think if I wanted a new SUV it would have to be a Macan.

Why would people buy this car? If you really like Porsche then get a £3k Lexus RX300 and a used £95k 991 Turbo S. Use the change from £125k to pay for servicing, petrol, insurance etc.
But what about the person that doesn't want to drive round in a knackered 15yr old Lexus all the time with a £95k Turbo sat collecting dust in the garage?

Not nobody. But very few do. Little sense in buying in the current market.

The rear-end is pretty much perfect for a large SUV. I like that.

Because when I want to take the kids and the dog away for the weekend I don't want to do it in a smelly ancient Lexus thats probably going to break down on the way there?

When I bought my Boxster 981 GTS I decided not to lease/pcp and did it on finance the sales chap said I was the first person that he had delt with in over 12 months who actually wanted to buy the car, Yes I know it cost me a few quid more but the car was paid for sept and I would have had to do something whereas I can choose when I do something

With no other reference in the images the proportions now don't look like an SUV, but an oversized hatch.
Other than that front end. Not sure why they thought that was OK.

Having said that, I am sure if you want to sit a little bit higher than a car and don't want to cruise around in a Range Rover this is the best one out there. (I am assuming that the Bentley is out of reach and no-one wants to be seen in its anyway)
To be fair, I have a black 2011 on 22s and I know what you mean - it looks like a Golf on steroids from certain angles. Having done the Range Rover thing before, I actually find it understated and less like a footballer’s pimp-mobile. If you can call a 2 ton SUV on large alloys subtle, it is.

One thing I would say is that cayenne’s are very colour sensitive - it can look huge and ungainly in lighter metallic colours, definitely.
