Ive had my 911.2 Turbo S for a year now and much as I love the performance, I miss the drama of some of the previous supercars I have had. I don't want to change car as the 911 is so practical when I need practicality, but I want to upgrade some of the components on the vehicle to reintroduce the excitement.

I'm happy to spend anything up to £20k to get the drama back. More HP, more torque, more exhaust noise.

Suggestions?

The best tuner for the 991.2 Turbo S is probably Techart they do a tuning box they call Techtronic and they also do a sports exhaust a nice benefit is that it comes with a warranty which would be backed up by their UK importer Tech 9 Motorsport.

An alternative is a tuning box from A&A (also German) they appear to be quite proficient and do their own development with other "tuners" own branding the A&A stuff - this is a much cheaper option than Techart and likely technically as good but without the warranty.

Nine Excellence have a very good reputation for the turbos.

This is where I would go first if I were you.

Move to a normally aspirated 991 - specifically a GT3.

The Turbos are fast and efficient, but do leave a lot of people 'cold'.

I have thought about doing that but I use the back seats a fair amount so sticking with the Turbo S is my only real option. I’d like to put some of the GT3 fun into my Turbo S

For a lot less than £20k you could buy a GT3 without the cage and get back seats retrofitted as a potential option?

I think Sharkwerks have recently launched a 991.2 exhaust

GT3 isn’t the answer here.
OP says he uses his car, probably almost daily - mileage is an unfortunate issue on GT cars.
Also says he makes use of the rear seats...I imagine he probably quite likes the ride, comfort, usability and practicality of the the Turbo, some of which the GT car can meet in part but the reality is that it’s a totally different car.

As some have said 9e has a great reputation, I’ve also seen some good things from Litchfield -I believe they are Cobb partner.

I talked to them a few months ago. The haven't cracked the 991.2 yet and are still working on it. The Techart option is a piggyback unit so doesn't rewrite the ECU.

Have any of the tuners been able to rewrite the ecu yet?

I saw the Litchfield exhaust mod. Looked like the best out there in terms of improved performance. Claims an extra 45bhp.

What about Akrapovic exhausts? Anyone had any experience?

Seems there’s several options but just unsure which is most reliable / gives true performance enhancement

Techart also do exhaust and engine upgrade? Seems to me this is the most convincing option at the moment?

Or best to wait?

What do you want to wait For ?

If you want to spend 30K you can go even faster, with TA warranty.

Who is fitting this in UK? Looks like perfect option. Couldn’t see from the link you posted where to go for it?

Gemballa 820BHP

991.2 Turbo S is so fast as it is' adding BHP will not add GT3 levels of interaction.

adding an exhaust etc is not going to give you enough of a BHP hike to make it feel any different imo.

although 820BHP has to be fun if you go the Gemballa route:-)

GT3 is a perfectly usable daily - I have done so for seven years now including Winter. Don't see any area beyond rear seats where a Turbo would be more practical - same cabin, same boot space and the ride with PCCBs is better than on a vanilla 911 with sprots suspension

I'd steer clear of Gemballa. for any engine tuning they do not have a good rep.

Another interesting one is EDO who does have a decent rep delivering the goods although they will be expensive

If the OP is serious he is best off dealing with a reputable UK company like Tech 9 or maybe 9E as suggested.then he has full local back up if there are any problems.
Personally I would give the A&A tuning box a go as it is relatively cheap and from my research well developed. Can't see why the OP would be particularly drawn to a slow GT3 having experienced 750NM in madness mode, completely different driving experiences.

OP wants more "drama" given the 991.2 Turbo S has so much power that I doubt you can get anywhere near it's performance envelope for more than a a couple of seconds on the public road how is adding more power really going to change this ?!

if I were the OP I'd also want to try a car equipped with an upgrade before spending what's probably a serious amount of money.
