There is something about this car that I find completely mesmerising! Can't explain it but I cannot think of a new car that I want more. Nor a car in recent memory for that matter.
Epic.
Sums up my feelings perfectly.Epic.

If you were to put this car next to a Huracan Performante and asked to choose which one you are taking home, who would seriously choose this?
I would happily give up 70 bhp for the far better looks, noise and driving experience of the Lamborghini.
I'd rather have the Porsche - so that's one. I suspect there would be a lot of others like me too. I would happily give up 70 bhp for the far better looks, noise and driving experience of the Lamborghini.
Is it the Weissach Package that adds the stripes across the bonnet and roof? I personally think the cars would look a lot better - and a lot more subtle - in one solid colour.

How does the charge cooler work? Do I understand it correctly that you need to full a water tank accessible in the front?
Sounds like it does what the M4 GTS does - it sprays water in to the cold charge duct. A charge cooler uses water circulated in a sort of radiator to cool inlet charge temps (in place of an air-air intercooler).
So I suspect some clarification from the author is needed.
Charge cooling or probably more accurately, water to air intercooler, uses water to cool the compressed air after the turbo. Contrary to air to air intercoolers, these don't have to be placed in an airstream and are a lot more compact. Allowing for a shorter pipe routing and high cooling effect, resulting is less lag and more power. Downside is that the water needs to be cooled, but the water piping is more compact and in this case are easily routed to the front where cooling air is 'cheap'. So especially beneficial here I would say.
The s55 (M3 engine) and upwards use charge cooling, as do all the turboed AMG's, also the A45, allowing for descent throttle response despite very high boost pressures on the latter. Not sure about other modern turboed super cars. Most of the were designed from the outset to be turbocharged, so then it makes sense to incorporate huge side intakes to house regular air to air intercoolers. Something the 991 design doesn't really have space for.
Edit: I am officially confused because I've now read three different accounts by different journalists, so now can't say I know what system the GT2 RS has...

Non-Weissach for you, or just for the model..?Worst offender imo still the bare carbon lower sills on some Ferraris
Please stop giving Porsche coverage and press inches for this nonsense.
You cannot buy these cars. I approached three dealers on the day the GT2 was announced and they basically told me that there was no chance.
I previously purchased a brand new GT2 back in 2002 when no-one was buying. However, they care not.

Probably go Weissach, but can't say I like how it looks. Might get paint brush out.
Let's see if exclusive can do some custom paint, e.g. Stripe delete?Ergie said:

At same time I can see why PH & Co give the car press time, it does sound like a great car, but they really need to stop mentioning the list price as it is completely irrelevant/incorrect/made up nonsense.
This car is not 200k – it’s probably about 700k in reality if you wanted to actually buy one
They should list the price as 'POA - circa 700,000+' or something

Slightly off topic .
But if your numbers come on the Lotto how many Supercar manufacturers can you actually walk into your local dealer and order prior to having a previous relationship.
I wonder what the lead time for a non youtuber /previous customer.
If you walked into any dealership and said you were prepared to pay £X overs then I'd imagine they'd find a way to source you a car or know someone/a customer who has one who would be motivated to sell. But if your numbers come on the Lotto how many Supercar manufacturers can you actually walk into your local dealer and order prior to having a previous relationship.
