or you could change the gearknob for a leather or plastic gearknob
No, wouldn't be the same then. There's no good way to write this, but it does feel good in the hand, apart from when it's freezing cold or red hot......

Haha, but you are right.

In a Puma...when you grasp the knob...it just feels right.

I would often grasp mine between my index and middle finger ..and kind of...cup it from underneath...if you see what i mean.

If you haven't done it that way yet....try it...it's quite satisfatory.

Ah yes, the ideal 3rd to 4th holding position in a Puma

Any Post Xmas updates from the lucky owner ?
Sorry, only just seen this!

Nothing exciting to report. The Puma has been pressed into daily duties, the 'Quickclear' heated front windscreen has been a god send!! Although it's amazing how cold that metal gear knob can get!!!

It hasn't put a foot wrong or missed a beat, I'm still really enjoying that revvy engine and sweet gear change.
How's the puma doing ?

Like you i picked mine up for well under shed money , so far it's had the fluids changed , cambelt and water pump .

In a weeks time i'm on leave for a week so will be doing a 2 moor's run in the puma , over Exmoor then head down to Dartmoor then back across Exmoor then i've got to go to a running shop in Frome so got a detour around cheddar gorge and i may nip over to Wales if the weathers decent .

The Puma is still performing faultlessly and putting a smile on my face!!

That road trip sounds great, I really must get out more in mine, really looking forward to the warmer / drier months.

I’m itching to give things like the engine bay a good thorough deep clean, but hasn’t really been the weather for it....

Still amazes me how cheap these cars are!!

Bit angry but i agree. When looking at cars, i always set to nationwide. I'd be prepared to go to the other side of the country, if i really wanted the car.

In fact, just make it a day out. Get a lift off someone or get a train, coach or some kind of public transport. A nice little journey there, pick the car up, have a chat with the owner, drive back home, job's a gudden. You could even hunt out some decent back-roads for a blast, on the way back.
Same with me, I've been quite lucky that I haven't encountered any dogs. Then again I'm not quite sure it's luck as if say I'm pretty good at following my gut instinct in regards to adverts!

Very true about that metal gear knob. It continued on to the Sport KA which was one of my less than sensible purchases (along with epidemic levels of rust)

I took mine off the car before I scrapped it and it now lives in my Hyundai Gen3 Coupe.

Looks kinda right too...

Just taken the Puma for it's first MOT during my ownership, and it passed with flying colours! Not a single advisory notice, happy days.....

The lads I sold my Puma to a couple months ago took it to the Nurburgring and back!
