RE: BMW 635CSi: PH Fleet
Discussion
The E24 is undoubtedly one of the most handsome cars BMW has ever produced... but it's not the last good-looking BMW ever, by a long stretch. I know I'm biased, but I reckon the E39 is right up there with the best old-school BMWs, and a fair bit else in the way of glamorous British and Italian 4-doors.
Distinctive lines all around. And that swept-back nose!
I'm not complaining, but I did feel that the roof could have been just a wee bit lower.
At some point when it was new, this car stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it. Large, yet understated. It spoke of money and of an unapologetic and rakish 80s narrative: the driver was going somewhere, and this was not merely about traveling from A to B. Seems a bit far fetched in retrospect, but the world has changed in a number of ways.
A handsome car.

Why don't you do just that?
After all you apparently have a warm Ford Focus, so you must have a higher level of discernment than many on here!
I'd love a 635CSi, but I'd happily put a Focus "ST170" in a crusher - POS IMO!
Can't all be as rich as you, especially at 17 He trolls every BMW thread telling people how stty their cars are because they're BMW's. It takes a real prick to do that, I guess like you too And all this coming from someone who has a 3.0SI I'm sure the PH mods will delete this, along with whatever I repky with so I won't bother, but if you're gonna be a car snob, have something better than 2 old BMW's that aren't even close to flagship to back it up with. Oh no, another Focus "owner" - BTW lovely "repky" (whatever that is)!Edited by aaron_2000 on Saturday 11th November 02:08
And anyway I like older BMWs! (265 bhp from a less than flagship model has to be better than 170 bhp from a Ford shopping car surely)?
But then back in the 70s/80s I owned at least 8 Fords, but gave them up when every new model became a FWD shopping trolley!
Rich - if only!

Great looking. But expensive buggers to keep on the road, mine was about £2K per year in repairs and welding. They rust like mofos.
Yep spend 2k on mine this year :0). Too be fair that was off the back of a few years of very little use and that included having both sides painted, new bonnet fitted and painted, full service and brake overhaul and a new alternator among other things. She does look sweet now though :0).Been constantly feeding the leather all year and has softened up really well :0)
My favourite BMW of all time. Would love the M635 with the manual dog leg but woulkd happily take a 635 Highline.
Watched Chasing Classic Cars last night and there was a M635 (Called the M6 in the USA) one owner with just over 6,000 miles on it and pretty much as new condition. Sold for $102,000 at auction. Stunning car!
