This. Please, whatever you do, heed these messages.Anything offered this seller should not be touched with the barge pole of your worst enemy. The mods can do as they see fit, but I have taken this trader to court and I am still waiting on payment of my judgement (and I am not alone as my claim wasn't the cause of the winding up petition on their last company). PM if you want details.
Clean, honest 986s are brilliant cars. To secure one, you are very likely best placed avoiding this seller or their colleagues and I say this from personal experience. I wouldn't normally bother testing the patience of PH moderators, but there are too many very questionable aspects to the way in which this operation does business for me not to at least warn fellow enthusiasts to do their research.
Thought I would pitch in as a long term 986 owner, I have a owned a 2.5 since 2008 and an early 3.2 for the last year. The 2.5 is a sweet car, light, great handling and loves to rev. The 3.2 more grown up with a load of grunt in comparison. I enjoy both and would not feel hard done by if I just had the 2.5( I have not driven a 2.7 but I suspect it will be a nice mid ground between the 2) I bought both on condition and spec. My 2.5 had 41K on it in 2008 (paid 8.5k)with perfect history. (Now 108k)I am handy with the spanner’s, so I have maintained it (oil change every year - essential) and only gone into a garage for a new roof/exhaust. Parts are cheap (similar to Bmw if you source them correctly). Yes the suspension will creak and I replaced the lot myself. It is still on its original clutch. The 3.2 again low miles perfect history/spec at 45K (paid 7k)and I actually intend to let porsche service it each year as fixed price servicing is around £350 And then sort out anything else they point out myself - just to keep its provenance up. What’s my point? Buy on condition and decent spec every time and avoid the basket cases. Oil change every year regardless and if you are into DIY you will have a great car for minimum cost.I for one am quite happy with the doom mongerors talking them down, as it leaves the savvy buyer plenty around at a good price to choose from and enjoy.

For an old car, this is pretty much what a full service history amounts to.
No it doesn't. FSH is where a car has been serviced as per the manufacturer's recommendations for both distance traveled and time between services.Just because lots of people falsely claim a FSH, that doesn't mean it's correct.
If you're buying a Boxster, don't rely on a so-called "FSH". If the advisories flagged up in the inspection every major service are not actioned, then there is, in fact, no point in doing the inspection. The only assurance you then have, is that fluids and filters have been changed. Without receipts for parts (suspension, brake lines, IMS, Rads - 3 of them, etc) you don't know that anything else has been done at all. You would've been better off buying a car the owner has changed fluids and filters on himself and had some other parts changed than many a "FSH" car.

This. I did something similar. Bought a 2.5 four years ago for £4.5k (64k miles) and have replaced all the suspension / bushes/ throttle linkage and clutch/RMS plus a number of other items myself. Also had the seats redone and a few interior items to make it feel a better place to sit. Easy to work on and i now 'get' the simplicity of the cockpit, where prior to ownership i regarded it as bland. I've spent as much on it as it cost me but it feels sorted now and this one is a keeper. I've had various exotica but nothing has connected with me as much as the 2.5 Boxster.
