So apart from front, rear wings, rear doors, bumpers, bonnet and headlights, it should be straightforward!

Seriously I have a HF turbo that the previous owner had put an Integrale bonnet and headlights which does look good.

PS a little time on google will tell you that none of the above parts are cheap.

Maybe head over to evocorner forum and put in a wanted advert.

Thanks for that......think the hardest part will be rear quarters!!!

This is mine when I bought it with integrale bonnet and headlight setup, not a big fan of the gash intercooler up front but gives you some indication of what it looks like without the widened arches.

I do love the widened stance of the integrale but it does look ok without!

My advice: Don't bother, you have no idea at all what you are letting yourself in for.
Leave it as it is, it will be a complete waste of time, money and energy otherwise - and that's if it ever gets finished.
Why wreck an already rare and decent car?

Hi OP.

I am a big fan of keeping things simple.

You have a HF Turbo and I think they are immense. Everyone scoffs FWD but unless you are going big power. FWD is safer, faster, lighter and cheaper in the real world. Yes you lose top trumps and pub banter, but that is not a way to live...

Secondly, embrace what it is. Widening the arches and making it in to a 16v or evo lookalike will ultimately disappoint when people ask and you have to explain it is a HF Turbo. Keep it as is or go the whole way is my view.

Thirdly, I am not sure how you are going to fill the arches with the HF running gear. All the 16v/Evo stuff relays on 4WD to hang off suspension with the right lengths and hub offsets. You may find you have to put in loads of spacers, get stuff made bespoke etc to get everything to fit.

Finally, I have a HF Turbo (as well as a integrale 16v) and harbour secret plans to turn it in to a fast road car with lightness, FWD joy and loads of giant killing abilities.

Good advice from the experts. As I said, mine came with 16v Bonnet and headlights but I have since reverted back to standard HF headlights and bought another( yellow no less) 16v integrale projector build up as I didn’t have the heart to hack up the HF despite its 293,000km on the clock - she is what she is !

Thanks guys.....it's just a hobby and I don't take the car too seriously,I've enjoyed it for 3years and it needs a major overhaul anyway so may as well make some mods.im not wanting to change engine or running gear just the looks.

HF, haters will always hate.

Pistonheads is full of bellends these days.

It is your car, do with it as you please.

It's nothing to do with hate, it's more to do with experience, good advice and not wanting to see an old classic trashed.

Rubbish, it is just snobbery. The MR2 jibe was totally un-called for and not anything like what is being suggested.

Here are the PistonHeads faux pars I have committed in the past:

- go faster stripe
- added spoiler
- added bigger wheels
- put in a big stereo
- put on a "sticker upgrade"
- made a car look like a faster model
- spent stupid amounts of money on rusty piles of st

and I could go on and on.

This community is going to die with the attitude shown on this thread and deserves to.

HF, try http://forums.delphiforums.com/evoforum/ where the reception may be more convivial and supportive to someone and their project than this lot.

How is that a PH faux pas...? biglaugh

OT: Do with it as you please, it's your car. Would I do it myself? No, but then again, I wouldn't buy 99% of the reader cars in the topics I follow, but I still enjoy reading how their owners fettle with them and/or enjoy them. When done properly I think it would be very interesting to follow and see how you go about it!

What's the tuning potential of the 8 valve?
I ask as you may need to change to a 16 valve maybe? And they are hard to find.
