Why should I intervene merely to tell fans why is it God''s gift to mankind?
They are a fine car in a Honda NSX/Audi R8 way. And I assume being British holds an appeal to some. Or maybe they like to think they are driving an F1 car. Or perhaps showing kids how the doors work gives them an inner glow.
No doubt good rounder cars if that's what you want and like.
Of course you shouldn’t intervene to say positive things about a car you are not interested in.They are a fine car in a Honda NSX/Audi R8 way. And I assume being British holds an appeal to some. What baffles me, frequently on PH, are interventions where wholly inappropriate and irrelevant comparisons are made.
As an aside certain of the snide comments above make you sound something of a snob.

DAB radio? Satnav? Surely both things are obsolete. Just plug in your phone.
As for the parking sensors, I don't have a McLaren but mine only go off when you are very close to the car in front in a queue. Not really problematic.
Not really. Dab often works where there is no 3G/4g .As for the parking sensors, I don't have a McLaren but mine only go off when you are very close to the car in front in a queue. Not really problematic.
Satnav - ditto. You can download maps to your car phone, but it's a pain. Also satnav can be integrated to head up display, etc

Also the average Lewis Hamilton loving Mc driver probably went through things like Boxsters, TT's, R8s etc so they need a decent radio and sat nav or they would think they had gone backwards in life.

Inappropriate and irrelevant comparisons? So if I was a car enthusiast after a new car to do road and tracks with £100k to spend, surely they are rivals? Of course, if they genuinely cared about steering, damping and fun then they should be rivals. Or they would just go straight for the Exige of course.

Horses for courses surely? The 430 exige (or evora for that matter) definitely has the advantage over almost any other car you could name whether gt3 or Mclaren for better purely 'driving' characteristics but the great strength of the Mclaren is the all round nature of the cars. If you wanted a very focused lightweight car mainly for track the exige is a no brainer over the Mclaren. Likewise if you wanted a great road carwith the ability to do long cross country drives comfortably as well as be able to turn into a bit of a monster after changing a dial or two, the Mclaren (any of them) will flatten the exige at that. Sometone who wants an exige imo definitely isn't one who wants a Mclaren, nevermind a 570GT which is marketed as the most 'touring' of the current lineup.
